iExec releases SDK and prepares for Devcon3
https://youtu.be/WdQPEqSV4Uw

The tutorial above shows how iExec's SDK can be used to deploy a functioning smart contract which uses iExec. They also released an explorer which tracks transactions and computation. My own thoughts are that iExec is on track according to their roadmap. I do have some concerns which I'll list below:

- So far while the SDK does look like it will work, it's not at all developer friendly at this stage.
- Marketing efforts for iExec are horrible.
- While it offers a more scalable solution than Golem it does not necessarily offer the sort of security guarantees necessary in my opinion to make things safe.

Overall I see iExec as potentially being the best option on Ethereum for distributed computation in the next 2 years. That said I do not think the marketing is effective at all and may be doing more harm than good. For an example of what I mean, take a look at the latest Medium post where we have this quote:

> iExec is deeply about providing sustainable solutions for the future using state-of-the-art tools with an overriding purpose of creating genuine and massive transformations. I am honored to be part of this profound change and will do my utmost to craft and implement every possible strategy to support it.”

This particular quote looks like it was generated by a machine or and run by Google translate yet it is on their corporate blog. In my opinion for the sake of their brand they should produce higher quality written blog posts or don't use written communication at all. If necessary stick to videos and audio interviews or update the blog posts more regularly.

The purpose of my post is not to be pointlessly critical of iExec but to offer constructive criticism where necessary. iExec does some things right but are making critical errors such as the bad marketing and the huge bet on China. Let's hope that the code they produce is enough to overcome these errors over time.

Disclosure: I'm a holder of iExec tokens with a stake in the future of the project.
