The first space based blockchain transaction has been trasmitted
> Blockstream’s Blockchain Satellite has forwarded its first transaction, the company’s CEO Adam Back has confirmed on Twitter.

The cost of uploading satellites into space is decreasing at a fast rate. Ethereum, Tauchain, and many others will have nodes in space for sure at some point in the future. These space nodes will allow anyone anywhere in the world to interact with and make use of cryptocurrency technology even if Internet access is limited.

> Blockstream has the goal of making Bitcoin accessible to people from countries with poor Internet infrastructure and unstable currencies.

The question then becomes, is it a human right to have access to a blockchain?

Well, I don't think you can say it's a human right to have access to a blockchain. What blockchain? Securely creating and exchanging value with others publicly or anonymously can be a human right, maybe. And the blockchain will be the technological standard to ensure those human rights. Anyway... satellites are definitely an interesting approach to make blockchains even more robust and accessible.
