The other day I found a content producer who ~~upvotes~~ only upvotes his own content. I've seen it before, we all have, not like there's a written rule or anything against it. But this dude was on some <sub>N</sub>*n*<sub>*N*ęE</sub>eE*X*x<sub>tT*t*</sub> level shit.</div>

At just under 50k HP, his max voting strength was around $0.46. I know this because before I came along, he only had one comment under each of his cryptocurrency articles—from his self *(to his self)*. Twice a day. His blog is Bittrex screen shots of candles.

<sub>*No rules against that either*</sub>

This is where it gets next level. After posting his content, he responds to himself by pasting a link to his previous article in his own comment section to which he upvotes that too—another $0.46 for a grand total of $0.92 per article. I scrolled through about a months worth of his content, he's consistent—twice a day, same routine, no commenting or appreciating anyone else's content for a grand total of $1.84 per day. We engaged in conversation.

I told him I was impressed. I've seen a lot of shit around here but I hadn't seen this technique until now, the ol' self commenting - self voting technique. I even offered the producer his very own tag. I spent a lot of time developing it: #selfcommentingselfvoter. Some other stuff was said—I'm pretty sure he got offended.

He told me it isn't written anywhere that what he's doing is *against the rules* and proceeded "If there was more interactivity with the content I produced on Hive, I wouldn't need to do such things. But there's nowhere else to place my mana voting, so better on myself than nowhere." We went back and forth a few times.

That can't really be his best ROI option *can it*? At just under 50k HP, his wallet value is somewhere around 6k. At $1.84/day, in order to bring that investment back to even, he'll need to continue his technique for 3,260 days *or* nine years.

Or you could just consume original content outside Cointelegraph from any of the several thousand Hive content producers and share your invested wallet balance with them—$0.46 goes a long way. By sharing that $0.46 upvote twenty times a day with anyone other than yourself, you'll be on the receiving end of curation rewards as well—daily ROI and you won't be labeled a self centered bastard who says "there's no interconnectivity on this platform" because you'll actually be connecting *innerly* with someone other than yourself.

True. There's no rules that say you shouldn't be a self centered prick and making yourself known to a community for communal reasons is less beneficial than making yourself unknown to a community for non-communal reasons.

I don't have a sister so I've never really had to weigh in on that one but if I did, I would say *'don't! She's your sister!'* So why you wanna fuck the platform?

There's ways to get your ROI other than being a #selfcommentingselfvoter. Finding content you appreciate and sharing your wallet balance with that content producer is one—there's a bunch. Finding and upvoting worthy comments on an authors page written by a consumer who seemingly spent a quality amount of time consuming that content is another one. You could follow curation trails at <a href=https://hive.vote>Hive.vote</a> and allow curators to do all the work for you. You could stake tokens, use your weight to promote under valued content, power up and power down according to market trends, there's quite a few options. Each of which will likely add to your following as well who will, in time, add value to your wallet—ROI! #Selfcommentingselfvoter didn't make the list.

I'll share a few *(10)* sunsets—total clickbait. I just snapped this first one day before yesterday, it wasn't too difficult. What I did was look out the back window—there it was, glowing across the sky. I grabbed my phone, opened the back door *(it was locked, I unlocked it)*, stepped outside, pointed and clicked—didn't zoom or enhance it or anything.
