Steem just speculative value ?

One of the most common arguments I hear when people argue against crypto currency is that they say there is no real value in crypto, it is just speculation.  They go on to say that it is extremely volatile, not stable enough to be a currency. It can’t be used for daily transactions etc etc etc. 

Well the fact is that the dollar has lost 96 percent of the value since 1913. While many crypto’s have increased 100 of times their original value. Sure it is volatile but it can’t be printed into infinity, there is a finite amount of Steem or Bitcoin that can be “printed”. 

If I had to choose between saving money in a dollar bank account or save it in Steempower, it is a no brainer for me. Sure I wouldn’t put more than I could loose into this form of savings, but atleast I wouldn’t have to feel screwed over when inflation would eat up the value of my dollars. I also wouldn’t have to worry about the money being frozen during a crisis. 

The money would be in my control, and that is where I believe the biggest value of of Steem- I would be my own bank .
