<div class="text-justify">Eleventh chapter in the series looking at the different abilities in the splinterlands universe. This week it's the turn of an ability with a <b>high potential and that is almost a must to include</b> in our lineups when facing a magic deck. Today we analyse the Silence ability and all the possibilities it gives us when we include it in our battles. Let's get started.</div>

Hoy analizamos la habilidad Silence y todas las posibilidades que nos otorga al incluirla en nuestras batallas. Comenzamos.

<div class="text-justify">This is a somewhat strange skill in terms of its distribution. Although it can be found on a total of 15 different cards, only two of them provide it at their first level. <b>The land deck with Mushroom Seer and the life deck with Crystal Werewolf</b> are the only two cards in the entire Splinterlands universe that have this ability at level 1. The rest of the decks have this ability, but we have to evolve our respective summoners and these cards to be able to use Silence in our battles. So, <b>to analyse this ability I focus on the land deck and Mushroom Seer at level 2</b> with Obsidian, also at level 2, as the summoner used.</div>

> Esta es una habilidad algo extraña en cuanto a su distribución. Aunque podemos encontrarla hasta en un total de 15 cartas diferentes, tan solo dos de ellas la aportan en su primer nivel. <b>El mazo de tierra con Mushroom Seer y el de vida con Crystal Werewolf</b> son las dos únicas cartas de todo el universo Splinterlands que tienen esta habilidad en el nivel 1. El resto de mazos cuentan con esta habilidad aunque ya tenemos que evolucionar a nuestros invocadores respectivos y a estas cartas para poder utilizar Silence en nuestras batallas. Así las cosas, <b>para analizar esta habilidad me centro en el mazo de tierra y en Mushroom Seer al nivel 2</b> con Obsidian, también a nivel 2, como invocador utilizado.

<div class="text-justify">The feature of this ability is to <b>reduce the magic attack of all opposing cards</b> A particularly useful reduction, of course, when facing one of the usual magic-attack-filled decks with Obsidian or Alric as summoners. It's a similar function to the one provided in the Thadius Brood death deck.</div>

> La característica de esta habilidad es la de <b>reducir el ataque mágico de todas las cartas rivales.</b> Una reducción especialmente útil, evidentemente, cuando tengamos enfrente uno de los habituales mazos llenos de ataque mágico con Obsidian o Alric como invocadores. Es una función similar a la que aporta en el mazo de muerte Thadius Brood.

<div class="text-justify">Because of the scarcity of the Silence ability among tier 1 cards, it is one of those types of abilities that you will rarely find in the lower leagues. My experience tells me that <b>in rookie, bronze and even silver leagues it is very difficult to see Mushroom Seer or Crystal Werewolf</b> in opposing formations. That's why Obsidian is one of the most used summoners in these lower leagues. And also one of the reasons why, since a few days ago, I have made an investment in the green deck, boosting the magic section of the deck by including Mushroom Seer at level 2 to penalize opponents who pose me a magic battle.</div>

> Por la escasez de la habilidad Silence entre las cartas de nivel 1 es uno de esos tipos de habilidades que raramente nos encontraremos en las ligas más bajas. Mi experiencia me dice que <b>en las ligas novato, bronce e incluso plata es muy complicado ver a Mushroom Seer o Crystal Werewolf</b> en las formaciones rivales. De ahí que Obsidian sea uno de los invocadores más utilizados en estas ligas bajas. Y también una de las razones de las que, desde hace unos días, haya realizado una inversión en el mazo verde potenciando la sección mágica de dicho mazo incluyendo a Mushrrom Seer a nivel 2 para penalizar a los rivales que me planteen una batalla mágica.

A player who, upon analysis, I discover has a <b>special predilection towards using Obsidian and a mix of melee and magic attacking creatures</b> This presents a good opportunity to test the effectiveness of my new strategy with Obsidian and a line-up full of magic attacking creatures including Mushroom Seer and his Silence ability among them.</div>

> En la batalla de ejemplo me enfrento a @Catotenor. Un jugador que, tras su correspondiente análisis, descubro que tiene una <b>predilección especial hacia el uso de Obsidian y una mezcla de criaturas con ataque cuerpo a cuerpo y mágico.</b> Se presenta así una buena oportunidad para probar la eficacia de mi recién estrenada estrategia con Obsidian y una alineación plagada de criaturas con ataque mágico incluyendo a Mushroom Seer y su habilidad Silence entre ellas.

<div class="text-justify">As expected @catotenor is planning a battle with two good tanks, three creatures with magic attack and a final one with ranged attack. Perhaps a strange decision since it's a card that doesn't benefit from the Obsidian bonus. <b>The battle is a testament to the power of the Silence ability</b>, which shines even brighter when we include at least one healer in our line-up. A healer who, in addition, has a magic attack that heals and deals increased damage due to Obsidian's bonus. Clear victory in my favour in a clear example of the advantage that Silence brings against an opponent with a majority of magic attackers in their ranks.</div>

> Como esperaba @catotenor platea una batalla con dos buenos tanques, tres criaturas con ataque mágico y una final con ataque a distancia. Decisión quizá algo extraña ya que es una carta que no se beneficia del bonus que aporta Obsidian. <b>La batalla es una prueba del poder que emana de la habilidad Silence</b> que, además, brilla aún más cuando incluimos, al menos, un sanador en nuestra alineación. Sanador que, además, al tener ataque mágico sana y hace daño aumentado por el bonus de Obsidian. Victoria clara a mi favor en un claro ejemplo de la ventaja que aporta Silence ante un rival con mayoría de ataque mágico en sus filas.

<div class="text-justify">If you follow me on a regular basis you already know that I move in the Silver league. What you probably don't know is that <b>I had a hard time reaching that division every season despite starting with 900 ranking points</b>. After a detailed analysis of the situation I realised that I had a major weakness in low mana battles, the most common in the bronze league, and that most of the time I had Obsidian or Tarsa in front of me. So I decided to boost my land deck with Obsidian at level 2 and several evolved cards at levels 2 and 3. <b>Mushroom Seer and his Silence ability have made a big difference</b> and, this season, on day one I was able to return to the Silver League. Silence is a key ability here and highly recommended, I'd say mandatory, when you're playing a Magic-heavy deck.</div>

> Si me sigues de manera habitual ya sabes que me muevo en la liga de Plata. Lo que seguramente no sepas es que <b>me costaba mucho trabajo alcanzar esa división cada temporada a pesar de comenzar con 900 puntos de ranking.</b> Analizando detalladamente la situación me dí cuenta que tenía una importante debilidad en batallas de poco maná, las más habituales en la liga de bronce, y que la mayoría de las veces tenía a Obsidian o a Tarsa enfrente. Así las cosas he decidido potenciar mi mazo de tierra con Obsidian a nivel 2 y varias cartas evolucionadas a niveles 2 y 3. <b>Mushroom Seer y su habilidad Silence han marcado una importante diferencia</b> y, esta temporada, el primer día he sido capaz de regresar a la liga de Plata. Silence es una habilidad clave en ello y altamente recomendable, obligatoria diría yo, cuando te midas a algún mazo con predominio del ataque mágico.
