Bilbo es un Hobbit al cual no le gustan para nada las aventuras y prefiere mantenerse en casa, comiendo deliciosos platillos y haciendo interesantes anillos de humo con su pipa. Sin embargo, un día un viaje se interpone en su agenda cotidiana y, junto a Gandalf el Gris, Thorin II y otros 12 enanos, emprende su primer camino de aventuras hacia la Montaña Solitaria, lugar donde habita el temible dragón Smaug, quien hacía años atrás había robado el enorme tesoro el cual pertenecía a los enanos y, quienes están dispuestos a recuperarlo.

Este libro es el predecesor de la trilogía de **El Señor de Los Anillos.** En el conoceremos el viaje que emprende Bilbo Bolsón *(el tío segundo de Frodo Bolson, pero la historia de Frodo la veremos en otra reseña del mundo Tolkien)*; junto a otros 13 enanos para recuperar el tesoro que le fue robado a los enanos años atrás por **Smaug**, el último de los grandes dragones de la **Tierra Media.**
Bilbo es un Hobbit como cualquier otro, alguien a quién puede considerarse bastante casero y tranquilo.
Un buen día recibe la visita de el gran mago Gandalf el Gris y otros 13 enanos, entre ellos se encontraba el gran Thorin II, quien es el legítimo heredero del trono de la Montaña Solitaria y quien, junto a sus compañeros, el pequeño Hobbit y Gandalf deciden dar pie a un viaje temerario hacía **Erebor** *(la Montaña Solitaria)*, para así acabar con el dragón que tanta miseria y ruina trajo a la raza de los enanos de Erebor.

Tolkien es sin duda uno de mis escritores favoritos de todos los tiempos y, siento que jamás me cansaría de releer sus libros, sin importar la cantidad de veces que ya se hayan guardado en mi memoria. **`El Hobbit`** es uno de esos libros que se guardan en lo más profundo de mi corazón y, siempre que regreso a el me trae una oleada de buenos sentimientos.
La aventura que es narrada a través de los ojos de Bilbo es simplemente impresionante. Durante toda la lectura no podemos dejar de sentirnos sumergidos en la fantasía que rodea por completo al mundo de la Tierra Media y fascinados por todos los personajes entrañables que iremos conociendo con la evolución de la historia. Bilbo, un Hobbit que no tenía interés alguno en salir de su agujero en la tierra, se ve abrazado por la adrenalina de la aventura y, con el pasar de las páginas lo vemos convertirse en un saqueador valiente. Además de que es en esta historia dónde conoceremos la primera aparición del **Anillo Único,** ese que le otorga invisibilidad a su portador y, sin ir muy lejos, también le daremos el primer vistazo a **Gollum** *(el cuarto portador del anillo único).*

> Tolkien is without a doubt one of my favorite writers of all time, and I feel that I will never tire of rereading his books, no matter how many times they have already been stored in my memory. **`The Hobbit`** is one of those books that is kept deep in my heart and, whenever I return to it, it brings back a wave of good feelings.
> The adventure that is narrated through Bilbo's eyes is simply breathtaking. Throughout the reading we cannot help but feel immersed in the fantasy that completely surrounds the world of Middle-earth and fascinated by all the endearing characters that we will meet as the story evolves. Bilbo, a Hobbit who had no interest in leaving his hole in the ground, is embraced by the adrenaline of adventure and, as the pages go by, we see him become a brave raider. Besides, it is in this story where we will meet the first appearance of the **One Ring**, the one that grants invisibility to its bearer and, without going too far, we will also get our first glimpse of **Gollum** *(the fourth bearer of the One Ring).*
El Hobbit es un libro infantil, su narración es amigable, aunque algunas veces puede parecer un poco densa, sin embargo, así como sucede con los libros de Harry Potter; cuando vamos avanzando un poco más dentro de la historia, comenzamos a distinguir matices un poco más oscuros, los peligros aumentan y, adquiere ese matiz heroico que tanto caracteriza al Señor de los Anillos. ***Y siento que eso le añade un gran valor a la historia porque puedes disfrutarla y entenderla en distintas etapas de la vida (así como también sucede con El Principito).***
Este es sin duda alguna un libro increíble, el cuál no vas a dejar de disfrutar en ningún momento. Especialmente porque tienes un abrebocas de personajes muy importantes en la historia de la Edad Media, conoces lugares y puntos que son muy importantes y referenciales dentro de este mundo, como lo es La Comarca y, además, no dejas de sentirte sumergido por la fantasía y la increíble narración del libro.
