For some time now, I've been able to travel to places both within and outside my region in Nigeria.
It's not a new news that passengers get attached by robbers and bandits on the highway.
Most people who have been robbed on their way to another location have similar stories which very few of the attacks are normal cases of robbery while others are caused by them.
You came be my witness. The social media has exposed some of the travellers to being attached before getting to their location while others happen immediately they reach where they are going to. If you have been reading news of kidnap and robbery cases, you'll understand.
Some of the mistakes which people make while traveling are as follows.
1. Traveling to an unknown place without proper address.
2. Showcasing your wealth while on transit.
3. Telling people how rich your are at the bus loading point.
4. Becoming a tribalist/racist in argument(s) while in the vehicle.
5. Unaware of the kind of bus to take when traveling.
6. Following the right path at the wrong time.
7. Sleeping while traveling or stopping at the wrong spot. This is the most dangerous of them all.

Like the no.10th point, many people have been robbed and killed while traveling.
Some of them were because they stopped to urinate or buy something at the wrong place and they were very unfortunate. 
Some robbers disgus themselves as traders/hawkers along the road especially areas on the road that have pot holes.
On the no.6th point. Some time ago, robbers used eggs to halt their prey by throwing it on the driver's side of front glass and when the driver tries to wipe it off, it covers the whole glass, causing the driver to have blur vision which he/she must stop by so as to clean it up.
