Music by definition is the pleasant sound, vocal or instrumental, that leads us to experience cheer, comfort and higher happiness. But, according to me, it is something extraordinary, chords and beats powerful enough to arise an unseen wave of emotions. It can be described as one of the most powerful human experiences.

Have you ever imagined a world without music? Well, I have and I think a world without music will be very dull, monotonous and lifeless. Every culture makes music and it is known to have existed far before 4000 BCE with the first form of music being drums and sticks. Music has been with humans for ages and with time, now it is an integral part of our lives and not just humans, likeness to music is a characteristic of all living creatures. Studies show that exposure to music produces calming experiences for all living beings and it helps reduce stress and anxiety. Everyone enjoys music and it is a particularly a very significant part of our lives.

One of the most beautiful things about music is you do not have to understand it, '*music is a universal language*', you just have to feel it. I remember being hooked to a Manipuri song even though I didn't understand one word of it. An extremely popular Spanish song 'Despacito' has around 5.25 Billion views on just YouTube whereas only 400 million people are known to understand Spanish. The world loves music and for me, yes, *Music is the perfect art*.

With so much love for music comes an equally massive opportunity for business. Companies have always tried to rule the music world, or at least the digital music world. The digital music world has been providing the music lovers with music 'in a legal and legit' manner. They buy licenses from the music producers and provide the music to end users via mobile applications. Unlike the websites that allow downloading pirated music, the artists and producers are paid for their work by these applications. But after selling the rights, the artists actually make no money from their work. Suppose a newcomer artist sells music rights to one of such applications and the work turns out to be highly popular on the application, of course, the artist will enjoy his popularity but he will not be able to make a well-deserved earning.

**The Maestro Platform**

Maestro aims to reform the unfair structure of the digital music industry to benefit the artists and allow users to enjoy music in a cheaper and legal manner.
