# Introduction

Who are you? Not a rhetorical question, but seriously, who are you? Your name, address, birthmarks, bank accounts. The minor details that define you. Identification is a really important step to get things done. Why would that bank give you a loan? Why would Swiggy deliver to you? Even better, how could Swiggy deliver to you if it did not know your location, right down to the street name and house number? But the major problem that we have to deal with is, theft of identity and subsequent fraud. Identity is integral, and that's why its safety and regulation should be checked.

# The Project

Velix.id is a blockchain dependant platform which solves many problems of identity, from procurement to storage to regulation. The velix.id is a platform which brings about a change in the whole system of identification of individuals, through innovative solutions for storage and verification. Velix.id aims to solve the problems of identity theft, and misuse of identity by making use of blockchain technology. You sign up in the platform, give your details and the platform allots you a security number, and those who wants to seek your identity, like a university, a bank, or maybe even Swiggy, can access your details only after you authorise it. You don't have to go on filling out form after form each time you have to prove your identity. Safe, transparent, easy to use.

Why is this different from AADHAR? Because AADHAR created an entirely new database, without anyone to verify, and that's why some very lucky cows and dogs earned themselves an AADHAR identification number.

# Blockchain – The Game Changer

The primary technology that is used in the platform is blockchain. Why? Because of its decentralised nature, immutability of data, and hence the reinforcement of credibility – something highly required in the identification field. Every user stores his data in his device, meaning that the company never has control over the data. This ensures the decentralisation feature. The blockchain tech also allows the platform to introduce its own token, the VXD. VXD will be used to reward the information giver and verifier for every successful transaction of identity transfer. This is done using smart contracts, again the feature of blockchain.

# Token Details

The primary token for the velix.id platform is VXD, and it is used to reward the information giver and verifier. For example, if a university has already verified your details because you've used it there, and then a bank wants to access your details for maybe granting a loan, a reward is given, of which a small portion goes to you, a small portion to the network (velix.id), and the major portion to the verifier. The token is divided into 2 more smaller divisions – VS and VEL, where 1 VS = 0.1 VXD and 1 VXD = 100000 VEL.

**Token Sale Details**

The private sale, pre-sale and crowdsale are scheduled to take place between 17th April and 15th May, 2018. The price of token would be set at $1, although discounts will be offered to encourage early participation.
# Final Comments

Velix.id is really a need of the hour, especially in a country like India, which experienced an information leak recently. Government should be open to technology and harness the power of decentralisation, and understand why it is important to control power by giving power back to the people. Velix.id is the way government should expand their identity procurement and regulatory services, and because velix.id acts as a private company and not as a government product, the citizens of a country doesn't have to update their details according to the standards of another country every time they move to a new place. The database exists and is accepted globally.
