## Ecency
More and more people are starting to use the Hive Platform Ecency App.  I started using it so that I could check comments, read posts and provide upvotes for quality posts while on the Go.

It is a very useful app to keep you connected and engaged when you do not want to get on your desktop, laptop or pull up the various community front ends on your phone's web browser.

## Points for App Use

Ecency is a community on the Hive Platform just like other communities with its own token and use cases.  By using the Ecency App, you earn points for using the app.  If you have not already loaded the app on your mobile device, you can do so in your device's app store.

You can get points for voting, commenting, posting and also when you are just reading (points for heartbeat) posts.  When you have points to claim, they will show up when you click the wallet (4th button along bottom menu) and then click the blue button to collect your points.

## Additional Free Points

After you have claimed your earned points, you can get additional points by clicking the blue button when it reflects "Get Points".  I never knew you could get free points until I accidentally pushed the get points button twice.

On this screen you can purchase additional points if you would like and also get the "Free Points".  Once you click the free points button, you will get to "spin the wheel".

You get to spin the wheel for free once every 24 hours or you can purchase 5 spins for $4.99.

## Options for Using your Points

There are three ways you can use your points in the app - Gift, Promote or Boost.
1) Gift points to your friends or to authors who's posts you find valuable
2) Promote a post.  While scrolling thru the various posts in your feed, you have probably noticed ones labeled Sponsored
3) Boost the earnings on a post.  This will provide upvotes of a certain value to a post of your choosing.

Every now and then I get an extra 10 points just for daily usage.  I like this app because it provides me a way to stay aware of comments and upvotes to my posts and/or comments.  I am able to engage in a timely manner with those that have commented and also upvote quality posts in my downtime away from my computer.

This is just another way to grow your account and stay engaged on a daily basis.
