For the third time, the snoozed alarm begged her to wake up. Windows open, winter breezes of Liovoli were whipping the curtains when Olema woke up. Aly, her roommate, left the windows open. Olema hated it when Aly did that.

She overslept sometimes, and Aly, instead of kindly waking her up, used rather bitter methods. An open window in the heart of winter could possibly be the least she had done to her. She rushed to the window and shut it. Gooseflesh all over her, Olema had a sort of oily skin that one would feel obliged to protect at first sight. Hours of sleep may be the blame for such delicacy. 

Slim waist followed by slim hips made her look as though she was a little girl, supported by innocent face. She had heavy breasts, which were the only body parts that looked her age. She wore nothing when she slept, except for the thick, furry blanket her father gifted to her when she turned eighteen. The blanket tried to keep her warm but winter proved itself sour. She had to get up and close the window while naked. She cursed at Aly's name and started to dress for another lame day. 

The clouds seemed shiny for the first time since winter. She wished for darker clouds, that could have resembled her dreadful life. It was past midday and she had missed all classes she had for the day. Her grades were on the seafloor, and she overslept for times more than she could count. 

Before she came to college, she had had a very big fight with her big brother at home, and she had taken refuge in dormitory to avoid him. The dormitory held two people, she and Aly. And Aly had ways to get under her nerves, plus her boyfriend always wanted to spend more time with her. No part of life gave her place for her own.

Hoping for death, she struggled a bra to carry her weights, and slipped a pair of jeans. The mirror by the cupboard reflected gloomy face of hers, and she tried a smile to look more presentable amidst her worries. And when a fake beam birthed on her face, she felt ready to go out. She called her boyfriend to give her just one day for herself, knowing he would not like it. But who cared, she desired her life to be hers. Besides, exams are near and the classes she had missed had to be compensated. She had no place to go other than the library.

The library, two floored and fresh aired, hadn't been in much use since the semester had begun. Students didn't study much before exam stressed them. Only Olema and some nerds visited. She took a seat, opening the book she had brought with her. She stared through the book to see memories of her brother. He made her life miserable. Though, she needed to focus now. Terrible thoughts attempted to steal her focus, and amid the fight, her boyfriend kept calling her even though she told him to give her a day for herself.

Feeling more worried and restless, she tried to clear all her thoughts, just so she could compensate for the classes she had missed. However, she still couldn't concentrate as the thought of her big brother kept affecting her abilities to concentrate. The thought of the fight they had tortured her but she knew she had to read since her exams were near.

But why is the thought of her big brother hunting her this day in particular she thought. Why did she even get into a fight with him at first? She should have just accepted him the way he is and shouldn't have gotten into a fight with him.

There was only one thing she could do at this point, and that's to call her big brother to apologise if she really want to concentrate. Olema pushed her ego aside, picked up her phone, dialed his number and apologised to him. That call took a lot of worries and burdens away from her heart. She was finally able to read and prepare for her exams after the call. 

Despite missing so many classes, Olema still ended up passing all her exams with good grades. This alone proved to her that worries changes nothing, rather it makes the situation worse.
