As well as claiming that there is a similarity between pyramid schemes and cryptocurrency trading, a telling quote from the RT News article is as follows:

>The right to trade bitcoins will only be granted to “qualified investors.” To get the status, you need to have at least six million rubles on your account ($100,000), make at least 40 transactions a year with a turnover of six million rubles or work for at least two years in a financial institution that traded securities.
 
This means that ordinary people will obviously not be able to directly trade in Bitcoin. They will have to buy and sell it through an intermediary which will greatly increase costs and buying and selling small amounts may become impractical.
