Just been looking at the price of Steem on Poloniex and I see that it's still going down in BTC terms. The only saving grace, as they say, is that I also invested in Eth, which would have been a disaster if it wasn't for the fact that the Eth/Steem price has been fairly constant.

The upshot is that I have been able to do some slightly profitable trading between the two. That's better than nothing in this climate.

Another advantage is that, if it later becomes unfavorable to trade Steem, I can still use it to boost my SteemIt account -
 assuming, that is, that Poloniex's Steem wallets will be unfrozen at some point.

I had promised myself not to uses Poloniex for Steem trading, but that's a another story.

So, I just want to finish by saying that, when the bitcoin price is falling as it is, it may be worth just trading other currency pairs instead of ones that use BTC. At least it gives the trader another option.
