The Trump Administration just published a small notice in the Federal Register announcing that it would waive the outstanding criminal sanctions against some of the world's largest banks, Citigroup, JPMorgan, Barclays, UBS and Deutsche Bank.
 


 The banks were facing sanctions stemming from a variety of wrongdoing, including the trillions' worth of fraud in the LIBOR scandal, and Deutsche Bank's role in laundering $10B for Russian oligarchs.


 Donald Trump owes Deutsche Bank at least $120,000,000 (and as much as $300,000,000) which the bank loaned him after he defaulted on a $640,000,000 loan they extended to him, and then sued the bank for $3,000,000,000 for its role in the 2008 crisis, on which he blamed his default.


 All told, Deutsche Bank and its co-lenders have given the Trump Organization over $2.5B in loans.

One small point: you note that Trump is giving tax cuts disproportionately to the rich.  As the rich disproportionately pay taxes, how is a cut in the amount they disproportionately pay anything other than proportionate? In percentage terms their cut is much less than those of us in lower brackets.  Lies, damn lies, statistics.  Also, I don't doubt that Trump is capable of engaging in shenanigans where the interests of Deutsche Bank are involved. But Trump did not sign this tax cut as part of a scheme to benefit Deutsche Bank.

Super swampy -- Just another dirty hand washing another, and nothing ever comes clean. It's unfortunate that I (and likely others) am not surprised in the slightest. The whole year Trump has been visiting his own golf courses, hotels and resorts and funneling money into his pockets. It'll be interesting to see the blowback to this kind of self-centred governing come the next election cycle... But I don't see anything changing drastically.

Yep I agree @mstafford .And  I truly believe Trump became President on a semi-lark and it was a stepping stone for him to get much richer. That was his intentions from the git go. Anyway who actually thinks Trump was genuine in pursuing the Oval Office and wanted to make a difference in peoples' lives... is really kidding themselves. I don't think anyone can change the system, nor do they want to. Warren Buffet has publicly stated that he pays less in taxes than his secretary, and he doesn't agree with that. One of the contributing factors is that the law, or federal tax code, covers some 74,600+ pages. Doable if you can afford a staff of accountants and lawyers to file your taxes for you. This is just one law, and I doubt anyone alive has a grasp on the legal system as a whole, Mr. Trump included. Greetings!
