Any poll that ask more democrats or those who lean democrat then they do of republicans is always going to come out ahead in the projected race results.  One thing I've found particular strange is how many people in the last few polls I've looked at claim they are independent.  Like in this poll forty two percent of people claimed to be independent....other polls seen similar results, we know nationally that doesn't hold true.  I wonder if people are skeptical out of fear of election hampering/meddling to give out their exact party affiliation.  I know when I took part in a poll a couple months back the thought entered my head as they further went on to ask what county and zip code was I registered in.  Anyway, back to the poll, thirty percent identified as democrats, twenty eight percent as republicans, on the independent side when asked which way they would lean if they had to choose between democrat or republicans fifteen percent said democrat, twelve percent said republican, that gives the poll a five percent democrat advantage right off the bat, if you take away that five percent then Collins is in the lead.  Fifty one cent feeling comfortable about the direction Maine was headed I would tend to think Collins will more than likely win re-election by a smaller margin than usual but nothing in the questions in the poll concerning Maine seems to suggest otherwise.  The thirty percent who answered they were angry about Trump were more than likely democratic respondents but I think that number is to low to turn this race over.
