You really must live in your own little bubble.  He never said she barely beat him out, he actually said it in a way that was complimentary to her.  I suggest you go back and listen to it again.  He does have a valid point that she should be spending more time harping on other countries, the US has done a lot over the years to their own economic disadvantage to curb emissions.  Only 1 in 8 of the worlds most polluting companies are on track to reduce their emissions under the Paris Accord, since China already met theirs before the accord was even signed just how are other countries suppose to compete economically with that?  China is the worlds worst polluter, that puts out twice the carbon dioxide of the United States.  You can dress it up all day long looking at per capita but at the end of the day the fact they are the worst polluter does not change.  They are also on the list of the worst companies for dumping plastics into the ocean.

China is the biggest threat the world has to face not just economically but when it comes to the environment.  Their Road and Belt initiative encompasses dividing China into  four sectors each just as economically viable as Beijing.  Their objective is to service the entire world from each and every corner of China being industrialized cities with the closest outreach to service the countries economic goods stemming from whatever area is the closest aligned with each geographic area of China.  You don't see Greta advising countries to consider closing the gap between themselves and the worlds worst polluter do you?  You don't see her with a public service campaign of encouraging people to buy local do you?  You don't see her trotting out charts and graphs showing the biggest concerns to bring awareness to people her own age why so much plastic is floating in the ocean, what countries they should be boycotting for polluting the oceans or taking aim at some of these largest polluters in the world do you?  I mean really, if you are going to contribute carbon dioxide at the rate of about four percent each time you exhale don't you think she should think carefully about what she's exhaling about?  You know I'd really like to know where she buys the bulk of her clothes, how much plastic synthetics is used in her clothing, (as that's all the new concern, fine particles of plastic from our clothing being washed into water basins from our washers and dispelled into the environment from our dryers), she comes from a wealthy family it's not like they can't afford to buy clothes that are eco friendly.  As far as her and Baron are concerned, and has been pointed out to you by others on here, Baron didn't chose to put himself in the public eye, Greta did and it'a about time that Greta proved she practices what she preaches, maybe go back to school and learn how to develop the technology to reduce pollutants in this world if she's so worried about it.   Maybe you could find out if she sailed as close as possible to Davos then used a dog sled to get the rest of the way.  I would imagine the reality of it is is the reality that it always is.....talk is cheap, set yourself up as the example that you should be if one feels so compassionate about an issue.
