<p>HIVE is once more down to just $0.20. I&#8217;ve been taking advantage and buying. This always puts @exyle's old posts in mine. It seems like at least one of his posts every single week would be titled some variation of &#8220;<em>Well, I bought Some More Steem</em>&#8221;.</p>

<p>So yeah&#8230; again. We&#8217;ve seemed to hit this low at last once for the past few years. And every time we do, I post something like — and I&#8217;m sure most of us are thinking — &#8220;let&#8217;s hope we never fall this low again&#8221;.</p>

<p>But — once again, here we are. Again. </p>

<p>Well&#8230;an immediate good point of this is that HIVE is cheaper to buy. If you believe in HIVE — if you believe that this blockchain can weather the storm, survive, and thrive, then this lower price is an amazing opportunity to buy in. Just buy $100 in from your paycheck, and you can buy 500 HIVE. That&#8217;s pretty good! Just think about the possibility of HIVE returning to $1 one of these days. That $100 investment will turn to $500, giving you a $400 profit or <strong>400%</strong>. That&#8217;s the kind of gain that investors on Wall Street only dream of. </p>

<p>Is it likely to happen? I don&#8217;t know. We&#8217;ve been at $1 multiple times in the past. We&#8217;ve been as high as $3 before. On the old chain we got up to $9. It wouldn&#8217;t be unheard of to float back up to towards $1 — or even beyond. </p>

<p>Hive still has a lot going for it. We have a decent blogging engine. True, it doesn&#8217;t hold a candle to WordPress, but for people who don&#8217;t care about the bells and whistles that WordPress offers and just want to write, the Hive blogging engine is almost perfect.</p>

<p>True, also, you can make a lot more money blogging on Medium or Substack — <em>if</em> you make it to the A-list. If you get there, you can earn more than a livable salary. But it takes a lot of work and more than a little luck to make it to that level. Anyone <em>not</em> at that level is making very little — and would likely do far better here on Hive.</p>

<p>Hive is also censorship-resistant. People can downvote you. They can mute you in certain communities. But your post is still there. No one can delete it or remove it. That’s a pretty solid feature.</p>

<p>And we have a wonderful community. It’s small enough now that you can almost get to know everyone — or at least become passingly familiar with most. Of course we’d all love to see Hive grow. But as long as we’re here, we can enjoy a small community where everybody knows your name.</p>

<p>And remember: the more HIVE you buy, the more influence you have. The more you can reward others with your upvote. The more you earn from curation. The more you <em>matter</em> here.</p>

<p>Overall, I&#8217;d say it&#8217;s a pretty good gamble. If HIVE does go back up to $1 or more, we stand to make money. And if not, well&#8230; at least we have a great platform that we can get enjoyment from. </p>

<p>So be quick — go buy some HIVE while it&#8217;s cheap. It may stay here for awhile, but it also may jump back up tomorrow, so take advantage while you can. </p>
