Smartphone Distractions ~ Life in a Japanese Train

Is it really such a bad thing?

The trains in Japan are really wonderful. They are cheap, on time[^1], clean, and they connect every city in the country. There is little to dislike about Japanese trains. 

[^1]: Not quite as often as Internet memes would have you believe, but often enough that it's expected. 

Except... at rush hour. At least morning rush hour. In the evening it is more spread out, but in the morning it is packed and complete madness.

Even on minor lines, most trains are completely loaded during rush hour with businessmen and schoolkids. Not all that fun most of the time, but it does provide ample opportunity for a little person photography.
