We at [dCrops](https://dcrops.com), a seasoned game on the HIVE blockchain with more than 2.5 years of operation, are excited to propose a unique collaboration with the Splinterlands community. We aim to forge a lasting and mutually beneficial relationship, leveraging our experience and dedication to the crypto gaming world.

**Proposal Overview:**
We seek a nominal contribution of $1 from the Splinterlands DAO, symbolizing your vested interest in our collaborative journey. This gesture is not just about the monetary value but a step towards a deeper partnership between our communities.

In exchange for the contribution of $1, we will hold a sale of a limited edition NFT while taking DEC at its pegged value of $0.001.

Our plan includes a special Christmas event featuring unique game mechanics and exclusive new cards. During this event, we will introduce a promotional card available for purchase with DEC tokens.

In the event that the Splinterlands community votes to pass this proposal, all DEC received from this sale will be burned, and an equivalent value of beta packs from our current edition will be gifted to the Splinterlands DAO.

This proposal represents an "olive branch" to the DAO, symbolizing our intent for peace, cooperation, and growth. More than a metaphor, we will feature an Olive Tree in our game, marking the beginning of our shared journey.

**Asset Holding Period:**
We propose that the assets acquired by the DAO during this event be held for a minimum of one year. This period is intended to foster a long-term perspective and encourage future collaboration, including potential cross-gaming promotional events.

dCrops is a crypto-collectible farming simulation game on the Hive blockchain, enabling players to manage a virtual farm. It supports asset ownership with in-game assets represented as NFTs. Players plant seeds, wait for crops to mature, and harvest them. The game has evolved to include crafting, cooking, and construction. Its economy is centered around the CROP token, earned by selling harvest shares. This blockchain choice enhances financial interactions and supports the play-to-earn model.

The gameplay involves managing a virtual farm, where players plant, grow, and harvest crops. The crops mature over real-time durations and upon harvesting, players earn CROP tokens and other in-game rewards. The game includes a seasonal system, with different crops suitable for each season. Players can improve their farms with upgrades, increasing efficiency and yield. The CROP tokens earned can be traded on the Hive blockchain, allowing players to monetize their gaming experience.

We're holding a sale for the Olive Tree NFT. The Olive Tree will be sold in a fully mature state, which means you don't need to plant it in a legendary plot, and will be usable right out of the box.

What's special about the Olive Tree is that apart from sunflowers it is the only other way to craft oil in the game. Oil is a valuable ingredient that is used in a bunch of cooking and crafting recipes.

Each Olive Tree will produce 2 Olives every day. The share value of Olives would be 4 shares each.

Each Olive Tree NFT will be sold for 25,000 DEC and there will be a total of 1000 NFTs for sale. In addition to the Olive Tree NFTs, buyers will also receive 50 Mystery Seeds per NFT purchased to help them jumpstart their farm.

## The sale will be held on 20th January, 2024. It will last for a period of 2 weeks.

This is a great idea!!!  Literally a $1 "risk" for Splinterlands with a chance for a nice payout down the road. Then, of course, there's the potential to burn 25M DEC if it sells out.  Keep that flywheel spinning!  This is not even taking into account how great this card will be for dCrops players.  Olive Trees on fully built plots? Yes, please!!  I can't wait!

I voted for this despite a member of the @dcrops community coming into the Splinterlands Mav chat and putting down Splinterlands the game.  I hope only @jeffbuilds is the only person from your game that will do such pitiful thing.  Otherwise, I will change my vote and want nothing to do with you all.

I would imagine that you are trying to encourage players from Splinterlands to join your game and not steal players from our game.  But maybe this is just a ploy to subvert us.  I will be watching the response, and hopefully this is just an isolated response from one member that just needs to grow up.

if it is a publicity stunt... so what? they are a game on the same blockchain, and are doing the heavy lifting of making this collab start. if its a hollow publicity stunt, it will have near 0 damage to the average splinterlands player.

It is a nice, slow and well made game. I play both and I think it's a great idea. But maybe instead burning the DEC and @dcrops sending you some beta boosters, we (as I'm a member of the @splinterlands DAO also) could swap the proportional Chaos Legion packs and both games keep a vested interest in the other game for at least 12 months with cliff or something. Dunno, just saying.

At the very minimum, the DAO will get potentially thousands of dollars of in game assets from another hive game. For a 1$ investment. And I think it's beneficial to spl the game to try fun stuff with other hive games but that's a harder outcome to predict. I'm also not 100% convinced this is a great idea for the dcrops community. A year from now the DAO could decide they want nothing to do with it and don't care to hold any assets from dcrops and dump it on the market. So there's definitely risk involved from the dcrops side while the spl DAO receives free money.

I've actually been playing dCrops for quite a while, now. I'm not sure if I showed up on day one or not, but since alpha.  I like it, and find it relaxing. I've enjoyed watching it grow, and look forward to seeing what it becomes.  I'm pretty sure @plummuble and @heroldius from K.O.G. play, too.  I've wondered what a collaboration between the SPL and dCrops would look like, and I agree with what @seeyouinlumb said about the risk vs. reward aspect.  I think a $1 investment to promote the purchase of DEC to burn seems sound.  Additionally, it gives DEC, at least a temporary function outside the SPL ecosystem. I've seen this in dCity, too, and I like the idea of all the Hive games giving each other a tiny room in one another's house if everyone benefits and no one suffers. We all talk a lot about community here, so let's mingle... is what I say.

I don't think we have much to lose here. What downside do you see ?

I see the potential to burn 25 Million DEC for the cost to the DAO of $1, in addition to the DAO potentyailly recieving 1,000 d Crops packs

I don't think Saying one game is greater than the other is slamming.    Dcrops is actually really fun and well designed.   Splinterlands is also fun but the cost to be fun is thousands of dollars more.  I may be frustrated with the way splinterlands leadership runs things and I am vocal about it especially when they do things that put them at legal risk in my opinion.   But that doesn't mean I don't want them to succeed.  In many ways the success of hive as a platform is tied to these games and both dcrops and splinterlands have much to offer each other.   No hate only tough love.  πŸ’ͺ

I'm also understanding that some people might think I'm a troll or whatever but I really just want to drive positive change in my own way.

If you want to drive positive change, in the future I would suggest that you point out the positives.  There is nothing wrong with you being excited about your game.  My problem was you coming into the SPL discord and contrasting your game favorably.  That's not a good way to win converts imo.

But you can do it however you want, just don't be surprised if fans of SPL will be turned off with such a negative message. I also think it spoils the message that @dcrops was trying to market with this outreach.

Its just a suggestion though, you can do whatever you like and be "you" however you feel is best.

In the spirit of trying to help @dcrops with such a generous promotion, especially considering the initial negativity I was involved in (above), I would like to issue a

**Guild Challenge** on this promotion

If this passes, in addition to me buying 1 of the promotional items for myself, I will match up to 3 more for my guild members.  So if any of the guild members of Team Possible participate, I will double their promotion (for the first 3 members to act).

I do like the creativity of the promotion and its a good effort to help both the @sps.dao and promote the @dcrops game at the same time.  I will spread this to my guildmates and hope they participate!!!

I feel this is a very good way to promote dcrops, I don't really see much downside with this collaboration, the beta packs are just sitting in the shop with not much movement. DEC gets burned (which is what SPL wants), dcrops beta packs gets moved. Players get a legendary tree. A win for all sides. Who knows with the collab, new players may join the dcrops ecosystem. Looking forward and excited for this event.
