Today is day 57 of my #seven77 regimen. It was hot as balls again today. So no yard work, sadly. I went out to Gamezenter to meet up with some Beyblade peeps from the local scene. There was supposed to be a tournament today, but it was sadly cancelled due to a scheduling snafu. So we had a casual meetup instead. 

There were a couple guys who were preparing for a major tournament coming up next weekend, and wanted to get some practice beforehand. I helped them practice, and also got several of them to try out a wacky format: Reversal.

Normally, when you show up to an event, you'll bring a couple tops that are your best or most powerful. With Reversal, you hand your tops to your opponent and they hand their tops to you. So you try to intentionally sabotage their chances of winning by giving them absolutely terrible combos. It's a race to the bottom to see who can polish the shiniest turd. And we were laughing so hard at it all, we loved it! I made the Arrested Development joke:

But yeah, a couple of the people who tried it were tournament organizers, and I have now convinced them that we need to have Reversal tournaments in rotation periodically for the sheer absurdity of the format.

After I got home, I had dinner with my family. My wife had ordered pizza because fuck cooking in this heat. Can't say I blame her. The heat and sudden intake of food less to the perfect conditions for a small nap in the recliner before getting my kids to bed.
