As everyone who has posted more than one article knows, the proper Tag can make or break the popularity of an article. Some Tags are more popular than others, in terms of the shear number of articles, but other Tags are [more profitable due](https://steemit.com/steemit/@animusvox/most-popular-steemit-tags-by-payouts-date-07-17) to the low number of articles, but high interest and upvotes.

Personally, I try to stick to the tags that I have interest in, so I write articles for the tags. I write more similar articles when an article does well, which is a pretty obvious way to use STEEM.  But, one of the Tags that I use is available in plural and singular.

Not one of the biggest Tag/Topics on STEEM, but it does seem to be growing.  I have posted articles using both Tags, either by themselves or together.   I don't want to continue to add both Tags to my articles, because we only have 5 tags that we can add and I don't want it wasted on a plural version of the same Tag.  It would probably be best to use the one that is more popular, but that could be different based on what someone else was looking for in their search.  Currently, it looks like **Prepper** is the more popular of the two, so I will start to use only the singular version of the Tag. 

What would be nice is an auto-fill feature in the Tags box.

It doesn't have to be as fancy as shown above, though, it would be nice if Tags had descriptions, they are after all, listed as **Tags and Topics**.  I don't know who would be in control of determining the Topic description or if new Tags/Topics were added, but if this is supposed to be decentralized, I guess anyone could do that work. Of course, there might have to be a way to figure out if there is a plural and singular version of a Tag and have them combined.  Or, even if there are Tags that are similar, but not necessarily the same name. 

In the end, I think it would be helpful to newbie and pro alike, if when you started typing a Tag name in, it would filter to show you similar tags, so that you could choose the one that you would like.
