Hello Everyone!!!  I have been for some years now in the crypto industry. I have joined the crypto space through Steemit back in 2017. You might say, well, you might have a good amount of understanding of the crypto space. BUT....I don't think so. You can't say a **good understanding** but a **little bit of understanding** I should say.

I have taken some decisions lately that haven't turned good for me so far. Like for example, if you remember the crash of Luna. The day Luna was crashing hard, I decided to jump in and buy some Luna and I did buy it. I thought Luna might bounce back and I could make some profit but that didn't happen.

Not only Luna, I also invested in a few other cryptos as well. Among others was Firepin token. Firepin got some good hype back then but after it's launch, it crashed badly. I have no choice to have it in my wallet and wait for the right time to sell.

### Crypto is not a Joke

Irrespective of the fact that my investments in a few cryptos outside of Hive didn't go well for me but that didn't have much of an impact on me.

WHY??

Because, I invested the amount of money there which I knew I can afford to lose. In other words, that was the extra money earned from here Hive. I didn't invest all of the earned money but a little bit of it, in a hope to make some extra bucks.

The point is:

- If you want to invest in crypto, you have to be mentally prepared for the losses. You shouldn't be investing the amount of money you can't afford to lose.
- Secondly, if I am here in the crypto field since 2017, I can't say I have a good amount of understanding of crypto. I still am learning. Crypto is very unpredictable so you should proceed with caution even when an expert recommends you something.

Whatever the case may be, crypto has a thumb rule and that is, **you shouldn't be investing the amount of money you can't afford to lose**.

What I like about Hive is that it only takes time investment. It doesn't necessarily involves monetary investment. You can literally start from zero.

I have started from zero and I still am here active on Hive blogging trying to build my portfolio.
