I recently found this cool movie contest that can be found [here](https://www.cinetv.io/hive-121744/@notacinephile/cinetv-contest-memories) which consists of sharing the experience we had when watching a movie that left us speechless. Most people have at least 1 favorite film that for some reason they absolutely love, and this is an initiative to encourage people in sharing this experience.

I watch a lot of films and series on a regular basis and even though I have enjoyed and loved a lot of them, there is one single film which I started to consider as my favorite one from the moment I first watched it in the cinema around 7 years ago.

I am talking about Interstellar. The mysteries of the universe and its vastness have been of interest to me since I was a little boy so it was no surprise for me to be extremely hyped for this movie before it was released. I remember also being a bit worried because I had extremely high expectations and I thought that I could end up disappointed because of it. But as I kept reading other people's experiences and reviews about this film and they all were great I knew it would be a masterpiece.

<center><i><a href="https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/157336-interstellar/images/backdrops?language=es">         Source</a></i></center>

The movie is basically about a mission to look for another planet to live on because our Earth is too contaminated and damaged. It encourages people to think about the possibility of over-consuming our available resources, and the potential consequences this could have for the viability of future generations. It will certainly make a lot of people reflect on the way we are currently managing our industrial output.

However, Interstellar is about so much more than that. It is also about the sacrifices people will do to help and save our loved ones. There are 2 extremely touching scenes throughout the film, and in the first one, the acting by Matthew McConaughey was absolutely top-notch. It took me by surprise because before seeing his reaction I was thinking that if this happened in real life the guy would have to be crying his eyes out, and then the movie shows him and that's exactly what's happening. If you wanna check the scene you can do it [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoLkabPK3YU) but if you haven't seen the film I would advise you not to see any videos about it, it would be better to go and watch this masterpiece first. It is one of the most touching scenes I have seen in my life.

The most interesting parts about Interstellar take place in space of course. It has the most accurate representation of how a black hole looks ever presented in a film, and it has several intense scenes that will keep your eyes glued to the screen with one of the best original soundtracks you can imagine.

<center><i><a href="https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/157336-interstellar/images/backdrops?language=es">         Source</a></i></center>

Among the great scenes that take place in space, there are 2 of them that are the most intense and could simply be described with 1 word for each one, the [wave scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Gq5uxY_frk) and the [docking scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3lcGnMhvsA). These were unforgettable moments that showed not only how can other places in the universe have unexpected surprises, but also that when it comes to survival what appears to be impossible can be achieved.

The entire movie is an exciting trip into the unknown searching for our salvation. It has an excellent mix of scifi, with an apocalyptic scenario and high-quality drama, as well as some surprising plot devices that can be mind-blowing for the viewers.

I felt like the performance from the entire cast was very authentic, not only in the touching scenes I mentioned before with the actor Matthew McConaughey but throughout the film the cast did a terrific job with their roles always making the dialogues felt natural the entire time.

</center>

<center><i><a href="https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/157336-interstellar/images/backdrops?language=es">         Source</a></i></center>

The movie lasts almost 3 hours but time flies while watching it. I even watched this film 2 times in the cinema due to how unique and enjoyable it was for me. The plot, the drama, the soundtrack, the great intense scenes, all of this make the film a masterpiece and there is something else I am deliberately not mentioning but it is what makes all of this journey possible.

Think about it, it is extremely difficult to just go out there and explore the universe in search of planets similar to our own right? We know those planets aren't near our solar system and reaching them is almost an impossible task. Well, the film has a good and somewhat mysterious way that makes this impossible journey, possible, and I also loved how that was done. It makes us wonder about our apparent loneliness in the universe, and ultimately, it is one of the most thought-provoking productions I can think of.

For all of these reasons, Interstellar is my favorite film of all time and I don't think that will change anytime soon.

@nbarrios67 ·
Excellent movie, very good special effects, time and space travel, black holes, the possibility of living outside the earth, even you wonder if we transcend or not in life, what is the passage of time?. Very metaphorical, philosophical and entertaining movie. It is also one of my favorites in Science Fiction.Well sometimes I wonder if it is fiction. Nolan consulted with astrophysicist Kip Thorne. Greetings

I agree mate. It is true he consulted with Thorne but there are some things that were exaggerated like in the wave scene for example. I remember watching Neil deGrasse Tyson explaining that those massive waves under those circumstances in real life wouldn't exist. The gravity from the nearby black hole will have an effect on the water but the waves wouldn't be a massive wall but a much softer increase in the water depth. The massive waves were included for dramatic purposes and it worked because that scene was awesome.

Visually and audibly, it's a very well-produced movie. However, the script didn't catch me as much as it did most people, because I think this movie a little tiring.

It lasts longer than a regular movie, so maybe that's why it was tiring for you. In my case, I felt like it had a proper length because the story is quite complex.
