Hace un par de horas el Real Madrid se enfrentó al Athletic de Bilbao en un partido de liga que se retrasó desde hace unas semanas. El Real Madrid se enfrenta de nuevo al equipo con la mejor defensa del torneo. En el partido anterior, jugaron contra el Sevilla, que era el equipo con la mejor defensa antes de que empezara ese partido. Habían recibido 9 goles antes de ese partido, y después de que terminó, tenían un total de 11 goles en contra en todo el torneo. El Bilbao, antes de este partido de hoy, tenía 10 goles en contra y eso lo convertía en el mejor equipo defensivo del torneo. <br><br>
El Real Madrid viene logrando muy buenos resultados en los partidos anteriores, se encuentra en la primera posición y ha comenzado a mantener una importante diferencia de puntos con respecto a los equipos de las posiciones 2, 3 y 4. Los mejores goleadores de las competiciones son también jugadores del Real Madrid, Benzema y Vinicius. Al igual que en este pasado fin de semana, volvemos a ver un partido entre el equipo con el mejor ataque, y el equipo con la mejor defensa, y esto debe hacer que este partido sea muy emocionante. <br><br>
Mis expectativas para este partido eran ver una victoria del Real Madrid, simplemente porque el Real Madrid ha estado jugando excelente últimamente, mientras que el Bilbao no ha ganado ni una sola vez en sus 5 partidos anteriores. Esto no es normal en ellos, porque suelen ser bastante competitivos, pero creo que están teniendo problemas con el rendimiento de sus jugadores de ataque.

Durante los primeros minutos, el Real Madrid fue el equipo con más iniciativa en la creación de jugadas de ataque. Como es habitual, la zona más importante durante los ataques fue la zona de la izquierda donde juegan Vinicius y Mendy. Hubo un par de buenas jugadas de ataque, pero nada demasiado importante. La más peligrosa fue un centro de Vinicius a Benzema que consiguió tocar el balón en una posición muy incómoda, y como el toque fue demasiado suave, el portero pudo atraparlo. <br><br>
El Real Madrid intentaba constantemente centros al área, pero como los defensores del Bilbao son de clase mundial, lograron enviar cada uno de los centros fuera del área. A medida que los minutos seguían pasando, el partido comenzó a ser más parejo, y el Bilbao comenzó a crear sus propias jugadas de ataque. Una de las mejores ocasiones de gol del partido se produjo en torno al minuto 26. <br><br>
El Bilbao dispuso de un tiro libre, pero estaba demasiado lejos de la red para intentar un tiro directo. Así que decidieron centrar el balón hacia el área, y el centro fue perfecto. In the previous match, they played against Sevilla, which was the team with the best defense before that match started. My expectations for this match were to see a Real Madrid victory, simply because Real Madrid has been playing excellent recently, while Bilbao hasn't won even a single time in their previous 5 matches. This isn't normal for them, because they tend to be quite competitive, but I believe they are having trouble with the performance of the attacking players.
<h2><center>How was the match?</center></h2>
During the first few minutes, Real Madrid was the team with the most initiative in creating attacking plays. As usual, the most important zone during the attacks was the left zone where Vinicius and Mendy play. There were a couple of good attacking plays but nothing too important. The most dangerous was a cross from Vinicius to Benzema who managed to touch the ball in a very uncomfortable position, and since the touch was too soft, the goalkeeper was able to catch it. <br><br>
Real Madrid was constantly attempting crosses into the area, but since Bilbao's defenders are world-class, they were able to send each of the crosses outside the area. As the minutes kept passing, the match started to become more even, and Bilbao started to create their own attacking plays. One of the best goal-scoring opportunities in the match happened around the 26-minute mark. <br><br>
Bilbao had a free-kick but it was too far from the net to attempt a direct shot. So they decided to cross the ball into the area instead, and the cross was perfect. It went straight to Raul Garcia who was near the penalty spot, and with no one near him covering him. He had a lot of space, the goalkeeper in front of him, and pretty much everything in his favor to score a header, but unfortunately for him, his header went directly to the goalkeeper and the opportunity was missed. The only reason why Courtois was able to stop this header was that he didn't even need to move, it just went straight to him. If the header went anywhere else inside the net, it would have been most likely a great goal.

Este es el segundo partido consecutivo en el que los jugadores defensivos del Real Madrid cometen un error al defender un tiro libre o un córner. Esta vez se falló el gol, pero en el partido anterior fue así como el Sevilla pudo marcar. <br><br>
El primer gol del partido ocurrió alrededor de los 39 minutos. Como la mayoría de las jugadas de ataque del Real Madrid, la jugada comenzó en el lado izquierdo con Vinicius. Empezó a correr hacia el centro cuando tuvo una buena combinación con Modric cerca del borde del área, y luego, pasó el balón a Asensio, que es un jugador con grandes habilidades de tiro. The second half started with the emotional momentum in complete favor of Real Madrid thanks to their late goal. However, given the fact Bilbao is a very tough team, I didn't expect them to get too discouraged due to Madrid's goal. <br><br>
Around 10 minutes into the second half, Bilbao was playing clearly better than Real Madrid, they were constantly approaching the area, and their high pressure was overwhelming some of Madrid's defensive players such as Casemiro. It seemed to me that if they continued like this, they would end up scoring their goal and tying the match. Therefore, Real Madrid needed to urgently change this dynamic and some substitutions could be a good option to do this. I was waiting for Valverde, Camavinga, and Rodrygo to into the pitch and provide some fresh energy to their team.

<h2><center>¿Qué viene ahora?</center></h2>
El próximo fin de semana habrá más partidos de liga en todas las ligas europeas y pienso ver al menos un par de ellos. La Premier League se presenta muy reñida y emocionante y en LaLiga, el Real Madrid está empezando a conseguir ventajas significativas sobre los demás equipos en lo que a puntos se refiere. Todavía es muy pronto, pero está claro que el Real Madrid es actualmente el equipo con más posibilidades de ganar el torneo. <br><br>

The first one to go into the pitch was Rodrygo in exchange for Asensio around the 63-minute mark. Both of these wingers are amazing players, although I currently think Rodrygo has more long-term potential to become a world star. Valverde entered the pitch in the 70-minute mark for Modric, and by this point, Bilbao was beginning to focus mostly on their attacking plays. They were really decided to do everything it took to tie this match, even risking their defensive side. <br><br>
That tactical decision turned out to be the correct one because Real Madrid was unable to contain Bilbao's attacks, and the final minutes of the match was mostly played near Real Madrid's area. They were really getting bombarded by Bilbao's attacking plays and crosses into the area, and Courtois needed to heroically save his team on more than one occasion. <br><br>
In the end, even though Bilbao deserved the tie, the match ended with Real Madrid's victory thanks to their lucky goal in the first half and all the missed opportunities and saves by Courtois. Bilbao simply had bad luck every time they shot and having so many misses usually has consequences in football. <br><br>
This Real Madrid victory allows them to remain in a solid first position in the league, and their next matches are going to be with the teams that are currently in positions #2 and #3, so I am sure those are going to be very intense matches.
<h2><center>What's next?</center></h2>
Next weekend there will be more league matches in all of the European leagues and I plan to watch at least a couple of them. The Premier League is looking very tight and exciting and in LaLiga, Real Madrid is beginning to achieve significant advantages over the other teams when it comes to the points. It is still too soon, but it is clear Real Madrid is currently the team with the most chances of winning the tournament. <br><br>
