Maigret: Night at the Crossroads - A complex murder points to one direction but is that really the solution?

This is the third movie that I watched about the detective Maigret and its quality is on par with the previous 2. This film actually belongs to the second season of the Maigret anthology series. There are just 2 seasons with 2 episodes each. A really weird way to organize the content but it provides entertainment to the viewers nonetheless.

This time, the story is about the murder of a man who was a diamond dealer, he is shot in the head and is later found in a car inside the garage of property belonged to a Dane, this Dane by the way, had scars in his face similar to Batman's villain Two-Face.

Everything points to the Dane as the person who committed the murder, and his ugly scars certainly show he had a very difficult past, but being a detective movie with some twists and turns that would have been too easy? Or who knows, maybe there is a double twist? :P

The characters that always appear in every episode are Maigret, his wife, and the other detectives that work with him. Their performance is always good but the best one is Atkinson by a lot. A really multi-faceted actor that always delivers.

The setting of the story was France in theory, but in practice, this was filmed in Hungary probably due to the lower costs associated with operating in that country compared to France. Either way, the setting looks lovely, the way the characters look and dress and the cars they use are all perfect and appropriate.

If you enjoy films about detective you should check any of the recent Maigret movies. This isn't a super detective like Sherlock Holmes, he is just a very observant, methodical, and dedicated person who loves discovering all the facts that could be related to a crime. The 3 movies I have watched are similar in quality and independent from each other so there is no need to watch them in order.

#### The best
* Good performance from the lead actor as usual.
* The scenography was nice.

#### The worst
* There wasn't much intensity in the plot. It was calmed and slow. Something a bit more bone-chilling would have been even better.
