In simple words, this project brings value to the open source community because it facilitates the creation of all sort of applications using JavaScript, and provides a lot of help and versatility to developers, so much so that well-known companies like Netflix, Paypal, and Uber (among many others) use Node for their online services.

Since Node.js is very easy to learn and it provides a lot of benefits for developers, there is a huge community of people involved with it, which is one of the reasons why this project is available to be translated into several languages (in crowdin, one of the best translation platforms in the web, this project is available to be translated into 33 different languages, Spanish is the one corresponding to this contribution), the ultimate goal of translating Node.js is to make it easier for developers from any country to start learning about this project in their own native language.

#### Contribution Specifications

- Translation Overview

This is my 52# contribution to Node.js, and the content I translated mostly consisted in brief instructions shared through the GitHub platform, indicating which changes had to be applied with the goal of improving the way Node.js works.

A software as useful and common as Node.js will always have tons of documentation to provide proper guidance to the developers planning to use it, this is the reason why there were some strings informing the fact there were typos or other types of mistakes in some documents related to Node.js. For each one of these mistakes, a commit in GitHub is created, and its corresponding information is added to the official Node.js’s Changelog.

The same happens with instructions that modify how a particular part of the software is working. Basically, when a developer or any person with technical knowledge realizes there is something wrong with the software, they share their findings with the community and eventually the problem they identified is fixed.

Some examples of the instructions I translated can be seen below:

In this case, the process known as “process.memoryUsage” was returning an object with 4 keys, but one of them (rss) didn’t have enough information to allow developers to understand its meaning. Cctest was having a problem caused by its extension, the reason was that “… the appending is defined in node.gypi and the cctest target in node.gyp includes node.gypi”, the solution was to put this information in the same place, “… moving the appending from node.gypi to node target in node.gyp fixes the issue.” [Source](https://github.com/nodejs/node/commit/a0c1d10e91)
