Rise to Ruins is another amazing god-game colony management type of videogame.
And guess what, it is also made by a one-man developer, Raymond Doerr.

the backstory for the game can be summarized like this: The world is being engulf in darkness, you, as God of this world, is your responsibility to make sure your people survive.

the game is designed for the player to lose, but there's a difficulty slider ranging from peaceful to nightmare.

The World is divided into regions similar to Sim City series, and like Sim City, a region can help an adjacent region by sending materials and/or villagers.

the game does have a win condition. to survive for a total of one year across all regions.

as you play the game and complete goals you are given God Experience, and use said God Experience to open Chests, which then give you permanent passive bonuses to your gameplay.

You will have to secure Food, Drinkable Water, Shelter and even manage Trash.
There are three basic building materials, Wood, Stones and Crystals.

sources of food includes naturally occuring crops, crop farm buildings and animal husbandry.

sources of drinkable water includes wells, rain collectors and treatment plants.

additional nomads will join your village everyday during day time.
villagers can fall in love, get married, have a child, and even have a dog. which is nice.
You are able to delegate how many villagers will work for a specific job.

Upgrading buildings gives boost depending on what building they are.(e.g.: A mining facility will increase harvesting of stone.) and the bonuses are stackable but only affects the region they are built.

As a God you are capable of making miracles such as Labor Golems or Casting Lightning by spending mana. mana capacity of a region depends on the population of the region.

Mana spawns naturally but can also be produced by burning crystals, sacrificing materials, decaying dead, or by harvesting materials.

The Forces of Darkness attacks from dusk till dawn. but will also attack your village if your territory overlaps with them.

Defenses will consist of walls, towers, golems, the occasional brave villagers and doggos also attack enemies when threatened.

You can influence the enemies' pathing by building walls in a specific manner.
Enemy Fire Golems can be turned into normal golems if they walked through water.

Do take note that the power of Darkness is evergrowing. so If you think the region you are currently playing on is getting difficult, then it would be a idea that you expand to other regions to make another village.

If all fails you could always reset the game by using the doom world function. you get to start fresh but keep perks you unlocked.
