I am very big on what it means to have absolute control on your mind. It is no secret that I am very fascinated with the mind and I have written so many times how much sounds (most especially) music affect the performance of the mind. In fact, we know that there are therapies with sounds used to treat people with hearing problems. Now, most sounds have been associated with colours and names. Why? To create a visual. Sound comes with visuals. No matter how much we don’t notice it, whatever sound we hear provokes an image - either what we think the sound is or what we know it is. 

Life without music would be no different that food without salt. I remember writing about the discovery of the power of music and mental illnesses - like Alzeihmers. There are cases of patients diagnosed with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) who can be called to with the power of sound - many cases, music. Then we have people like us who have the pleasure of being whole enjoying the nostalgic feeling that comes with music. I travel back in time with music. Maybe a time in childhood or a memory that I may have forgotten, as long as there was a song attached to that time, I will always remember. Maybe this is why I tend to quickly forget the existence of songs tied down to what I term ‘bad’ or ‘embarrassing’ memories. 

In a nutshell, music is equivalent to life. Look at Nigeria. We have the biggest music industry in Africa and are even competing globally. Nigeria is blessed with talented artists that keep putting the country on the map. This would not be possible without the existence of music. Things like parties and celebrations would just be bland, lacking flavour and colour. Hence, looking closely at what music is to the world and then  to me, it is safe to conclude that if music were to be taken from the world, it would lose a huge part of its core.
