When I joined Steemit 205 days ago, I quickly learned that the community is what makes this place special. Without a strong community, this platform would not be able to make it. 

As far as witnesses go that help to keep this blockchain running smoothly, we have technical witnesses out there that are always developing new and important things for the platform. Then we have witnesses that are more focused on the community and ensuring that the individuals that make up the Steemit platform stick around to enjoy the work that the technical witnesses are spending so much of their time working on gets used.

@c0ff33a and I would be considered one of those community witnesses because we aim to make sure that people enjoy their time here by supporting different communities and creating activities that incentivize users to want to continue posting on the platform. We are always talking and trying to come up with different ways to have fun while supporting the Steemit platform.

I have created a photography contest that is structured differently than the other contests here on the platform. Photographers of all skill levels are able to compete against only the ones that are in their skill level. So pros compete against pros, amateurs against amateurs, and beginners compete against other beginners, and they all have a chance to win prizes in their own prize pools. I have been running this contest for about 4 months now and it has grown significantly. I want to thank @pfunk and @czechglobalhosts for their help with sponsoring the contests because without their help the contest wouldn't have been possible.

This is the first contest that I am sponsoring myself with some of the proceeds I am earning from the witness. This is a hilarious contest where you just have to generate random inspirational quotes and then post the results in the comments and people vote on their favorite.

Every week @c0ff33a and I draw from the list of our witness voters and we each reward 2 people from that list with 1 share of @steembasicincome. We just want to show our appreciation to those that are supporting us and we have chosen @steembasicincome as a reward because it encourages you to be active on Steemit. 

I have been thinking about ways that I can tweak the drawing process and I have decided to add a few rules to it.

- Minimum SP 30 to be eligible. This will reduce spam accounts being eligible.
- Must be an active account that posts at least twice a week. I would not want to send @steembasicincome to an account that would not take advantage of it.

That is about it, so I am just going to get to the drawing because I need to get to school soon. We had 296 voters this week that I entered into the random number generator.

The first number drawn was 44 and the winner was @thekitchenfairy

The next number drawn was 275 and that was @songcaoxian. Unfortunately this user only has 3 SP and hasn't posted in over 2 months, so it not eligible.
