# <center>Our witness is going full Hive!</center>

Today marks the day that my joint witness with @c0ff33a was shut down over on the Steem Blockchain. Any witness that was running any version other than Ver. 0.22.8888 is now not going to produce blocks for the Steem Blockchain. 

During Hard Fork 0.23.0 that led to the split off for the Hive Blockchain, @c0ff33a and I wanted to have our Steem Witness still running Ver. 0.22.1 over on the Steem Blockchain during the power down period to help facilitate the blockchain so that we all could have a stable chain as those of us that were in the process of powering down our Steem to migrate to Hive were able to do so.

@c0ff33a and I are not going to be updating our Steem Witness to Ver. 0.22.8888 because it is a malicious version of the blockchain that censors posts, freezes accounts for vindictive reasons, and sets a dangerous precedent to the cryptocurrency world in general. Ver. 0.22.8888 goes against everything that Steem was founded for.

Our old Steem Witness is now configured as our backup Hive Witness and is in the process of replaying to Ver. 0.23.0. We are in the process of looking at setting up a full node as well to help further support the Hive Blockchain and ensure its prolonged stability. 

This year is going to be pretty exciting for the Hive Blockchain as we push towards innovation to set us apart from Steem. We have a strong group of developers within the community and there is a lot of pretty awesome things being down in the background to make Hive amazing.
