# A carnival session

This nice animation is made during the **Baeckerball**, a typical carnival session in Aachen, where my friends made me to go after a long week of traveling. So, you might understand why I'm looking a bit tired and not yet dancing on the table.

# On Thursday the woman’s take the town
It is Weiberfastnacht! But WTF is this??

> Weiberfastnacht - also known as Weiberfasching, Wieverfastelovend (Kölsch), Fettdonnerstag (Aachen area), Schwerdonnerstag (Koblenz) or Weiberfasnet (Schwäbisch) - marks the transition from session to street carnival on Thursday before Ash Wednesday.

# But what is Weiberfastnacht?
With the Weiberfastnacht or Altweiberfastnacht, the hot phase of street carnival in Germany also begins.

Every year, the women in Aachen, Cologne, Mainz and other cities storm the city halls and symbolically take over the regiment.  

At 11:11 in the morning the woman's are running to the town or city hall and kick out the major for some days to take over the activities - means party time.

What seems a little troubled today must have had something very liberating, almost revolutionary in the past.

Hier in der Münchner Gegend heißt das "Unsinniger Donnerstag". Hab ich nach fast 6 Jahren hier nun gelernt. *grins*
Und am selben Abend das erste Mal in meinem Leben einem Herrn die Krawatte zerschnippelt. Es sind doch echt zwei absichtlich mit Krawatte zum Stammtisch gekommen. :D
