After reading the whitepaper, it seems that EOS is basically built from the core elements of Steemit and Bitshares. The way I envision it is that EOS is that it is sort of like the backend layer that can have applications and other frontend GUIs built on top of it, the only purpose for it is account management. This is an awesome concept that I'm excited for, just experiencing it here on Steemit, there is definitely a bigger emphasize on user interaction to a level that is more understandable for the mainstream user which is highly lacking in the entire cryptocurrency market. Obviously for cryptocurrency to succeed, mass adoption is needed and to get there these applications need to be easy enough to use to the point where the every day user doesn't even know that they are using a decentralized application. This is what Steemit does very well in account management.

If we take a closer look into why it works so well with Steemit, we can see that this protocol is so important for dapps moving forward, from a user perspective.

To get STEEM:

* You sign up.
* You post content.
* You get STEEM.

Why other tokens are a pain in the ass for regular users:

* You download their client.
* Their entire blockchain needs to sync up.
* You go on an exchange, if you are new you need to create an account and get verified.
* You buy the token.
* Transfer the token to your wallet, always test with a small amount then send the rest and pray you didn't screw it up.

It looks like the STEEM philosophy is being applied to EOS. Where account management is basically managed at the lowest level, aka we don't need to sync an entire blockchain on our computer to use it, and we can build other dapps on top of that. So the way I'm understanding this is that EOS is sort of like the base layer for account management. We can see this is applied to Steemit now by looking down the latter.

Steemit.com >> Steem Blockchain

Where Steemit.com is the user interface which views the blockchain, but we don't have to download the entire blockchain to interact with it.

So, if the purpose of EOS is to provide developers with a base layer for account management in their dapps, will Steem be using EOS as a base layer for account management in the future? Something like:

Steemit.com >> Steem Blockchain >> EOS Blockchain

I am curious to see how that would work.
