Authentic Ngohiang from Bogor, West Java - Indonesia

Hello, friends especially foodies!

Last saturday, we went to Puncak on 4am in the morning, wanted to see the sunrise there but unfortunately the fog was everywhere and the weather was not good.

So then we decided to go to other city, Bogor. Bogor is famous as rain city and it is located on West Java. The special area to eat here, a street full of culinary named Surya Kentjana. We arrived there too early so not any restaurants opened yet. So we were waiting in the car then after a restaurant opened, we came and had authentic dessert there, es pala (nutmeg ice).

Unfortunately the pala was not fresh, i could see that it had alcohol inside. Oops!

Then, our waiting was worth the price. We came to the ngohiang restaurant.

They fried the ngohiang in the open kitchen at front.

Ngohiang that we ordered made from meat and other ingredients, it had a sausage-like roll shape consisting of minced pork seasoned with special five seasons rolled inside a beancurd skin. It was served with chilli sauce and a house-special sweet sauce plus pickled radish.

Although the dining area here was not large, many customers were eating here, some even like us, they came from Jakarta.

Their ngohiang like usually tasted fantastic. It was also served with the boiled potato and tofu, all fried too. The ngohiong had savory flavour, crunchy outside and soft inside. Tasty and delicious!

My friend also ordered their mixed pork with hainanese rice.

The pork was sweet and too soft.
He only said that it was only so-so, nothing special here. I didn't interest at it at all, cause i already full with my ngohiang.

The price
For the brunch and drink we paid 170,000 IDR or around 12 USD.
