Hi all, first of all I would like to say HAPPY NEW YEAR 2023. It's a bit late however lets keep wishing that this year we will have better Splinterlands experience. 

This is my post for my [Splinterlands Social Media Challenge](https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@splinterlands/splinterlands-weekly-curation-challange-january-3-2023) participation. Social media challenge is a regular event held on HIVE BLOCKCHAIN which everyone buzzing all around the world about Splinterlands, whether we share our gaming activities, thoughts about Splinterlands, Tokenomic discussion, and many more.

Currently I am playing for my Guild, TeasMe, and haven't got any intention or planning to move out. We have made a good start this year, geting 49.625 SPS and 2,267 MERITS from our first BRAWL in 2023. This is wonderful because it means after every BRAWL we can buy a Gladius Pack.

We sit on #4 and we were very happy about it because that's the best position we have ever achieved in Tier 3 BRAWL. Usually we get 
below mid table, but yesterday it's like everyone were giving their best and delivered result.

# MY FIRST BRAWL 2023 - TeaseME Guild

As Usual Gwidiom and Paul were on our top list, they were our regular point getter for a whole year. This round I did not make into our top 5 performers. My result was not a good one, getting 3 wins from 8 battles. That's less than 50% Winrate.

I will share one of my battle which gone wrong however I came back winning of it.

This was a between my Fire - Tarsa vs Death - Thaddius Brood. I picked death because I had Grum Flameblade, and I had not had any Legendary Death Monsters.

My Plan was simple, storming opponent front door and had Tenyii Striker and Uraues killed their backline supports. The things that happened were:
- Opponent anticipated this by having that sturdy beatle as backline wall
- Speed-wise they were faster, this was bad because they would keep hitting my team first
- Thaddius nerfed down my Djinn Apprentice magic damage.

### Round 2

- When Round 2 started, I knew I was losing my Grum. Pretty much useless of his bloodlust, because he died without killing anyone.

### Round 4

- When Round 4 started, things started to look good for me. I knew I had to knock down 2 more walls before my team shut down their Dhampir Stalker heavy range damage.

- Finally my team took down that annoying Crypt Beetle on their back. Now we had a great chance of winning

### Round 12 The Final Round

- This turned out to be a boring rally long fight, and my team needed 6 more rounds to wipe them out. I was glad I did not lose this battle.
## BATTLE KEY POINTS:
- Lack of fire power. This was the biggest flaw in my opponent team, they did not deliver enough damage. If they replace that Nightmare with Arachnite Thug, I should have lost that battle. Replacing that Nightmare with Djinn Muirat worked well too.
- Non Attacking wall was great in 6 vs 6 condition, however as the number of monsters went down, wall became a burden. The first 3 rounds that Crypt Beetle was a beast, my sneak attackers felt like they were wasting turns. However after the 4th rounds, we could see that I had 5 attacking monsters and they only have 3 because that beetle was idle. This made a huge difference.

# A FUN FACT ABOUT BRAWL : DO YOU KNOW THERE ARE PEOPLE GETTING PAID BY THE GUILD TO PLAY IN BRAWLS?

I know this sounds silly and I do not believe this in the first place, however currently I have a few friends on Discords and Telegram group who are getting paid for playing in certain Guild. Some Guilds need players, not only someone who fills frays, but someone who keeps winning alot on those frays.

How much do they get pay? This is vary between each guilds. Some guilds do not pay in currency but they pay in delegation. Whatever cards you need, the guild will get it and delegate them to you. This kind of payment is not interesting, the one that interesting that Guilds which pay in DEC.

Most of these players get paid between 1.000 DEC to 3.000 DEC per BRAWL. Actually the purpose of this payment is not to keep these players but its to support them getting the cards from rental market. The players mostly are small players who have outstanding win rate or history but do not have good assets.

Top players who have great assets or can maintain assets from rental market, they usually go to top Guild. So this paying Guild are the Guilds on high TIERS but they are not top notch one, not enough to attract best players but they are on the same TIER with the best Guilds out there.

So how do you think about it? Do you think this is a good practice or not? Personally I like this idea because it keeps my friends from leaving Splinterlands. On the other side, those guilds get a good position because these players working hard getting winds, else they get fired.
