From now on I am going to post dishes that are not typical, palatable, or not for the fragile types. Anyway, we should focus on making it through the end of times, so I'm only going to share easy, cheap, and safe food (muwahaha) for those who still have an appetite to live through this perpetual pain. Please, please, don't expect anything fancy from me. Today's dish is this mushy green lentil soup - I call it the antidote to suffering and weird flu. If you happen to live on an island with no access to a refrigerator, islanders have their way of preserving corpses of fish. So this salty sun-dried fish is the highlight of this recipe. Let's get to the heart of the fish!  ### Ingredients # Dried Fish 1 cup green lentils (soaked in water overnight if you don't want to cook this forever) Diced tomatoes Some green leaves (My landlord gave me access to the unlimited, edible leaves of his miracle tree. Any small green leaves looking like this would do too.) Onions Olive oil Salt or fish sauce (you might want to omit this since the dried fish is super salty enough) Pepper The alternative is pork but I'm no longer a pork eater since 2019, so I'll settle for this cute little dried fish. ### Directions # Caramelize the onions or until translucent enough then sautee the garlic with it.  Add the drained lentils and 1- 1/2 cups of water. Bring to a boil or until the lentils are mushy enough.  While the lentils start getting mushier, you may now start frying the poor fish. Then set aside. You may now add the miracle leaves and tomatoes to the mushy lentils soup. Season with salt or pepper or mix in the fried dried fish for flavor.  Garnish it with some pork cracklings if you choose pork. Well of course you're gonna have to eat this with rice because the flavor of the fish might be too strong for you (because you might be weak for this too). And feel free to dip its flesh in spicy vinegar for balance! Overall, you can spend about < 2USD for this recipe and still have some leftover (if you are all alone and no cat to share it with). You are lucky if you have free access to miracle leaves! There you go, you now have some proper meal to make it through the day.
