¡Gente bonita! Espero estén bien hoy quiero hablarles de una película que me hizo sentir demasiadas cosas al mismo tiempo, desde emoción y disfruté, hasta rabia y tristeza por todo lo que nos cuentan y el punto de vista del narrador, hoy quiero hablar de la película Elvis.

Existen muchas películas contando un poco la historia de este gran artista como lo fue Elvis Presley, pero para mí esta película que salió este año 2022 es el mejor homenaje y la manera más dinámica de contarte todo lo que pasó y como conoció todo, desde el Elvis de pequeño hasta su último día de vida. Esta película logra entretenerte a un nivel colosal y me parece ya que eso hace que valga oro, pues es una historia que tal vez mucha gente ya conoce y sabrán que contaran, pero aun así encanta como lo plasmaron.

There are many movies telling the story of this great artist like Elvis Presley, but for me this movie that came out this year 2022 is the best tribute and the most dynamic way to tell you everything that happened and how he knew everything, from Elvis as a child to his last day of life. This movie manages to entertain you at a colossal level and I think that makes it worth gold, because it is a story that perhaps many people already know and know that they will tell, but still love how they captured it.

Algo increíble para mí de esta película es que decidieron que el representante de Elvis, Tom Parker, narrara todo lo que estaba pasando desde su punto de vista. Para mí esto fue oro, porque Tom Parker se le recuerda como el asesino de Elvis entonces… ¿Él contando como lo mató? No, contó por qué murió y fue culpado por ello. Esto es algo que me encantó porque el cinismo del personaje se mostró desde el minuto 0, si no conocías nada de la historia simplemente te dejabas con la duda, pero ya al ver todo sabías que simplemente Tom Parker fue una persona bastante despreciable.

Something incredible to me about this movie is that they decided to have Elvis' manager, Tom Parker, narrate everything that was going on from his point of view. To me this was gold, because Tom Parker is remembered as the killer of Elvis so... him telling how he killed him? No, he told why he died and was blamed for it. This is something I loved because the cynicism of the character was shown from minute 0, if you didn't know anything about the story you were simply left in doubt, but already seeing everything you knew that simply Tom Parker was a pretty despicable person.

También me encantó como agregaba otro ambiente a lo que estaba pasando al momento, por ejemplo, cuando Elvis realizaba una acción que Tom le dijo que no hiciera, uno como espectador disfrutaba que hiciera y Tom decía “Le lavaron el cerebro esos hippies” y allí tú te dabas cuenta como él tenía el atrevimiento de manipular toda tu mente para hacerte ver que él no hizo nada si no que él intentaba librarlo del mal, Tom Hanks de verdad logró hacer ese personaje despreciable a un nivel que de verdad hay que aplaudirle.

I also loved how he added another atmosphere to what was happening at the time, for example, when Elvis performed an action that Tom told him not to do, you as a viewer enjoyed that he did and Tom said "He was brainwashed by those hippies" and there you realized how he had the audacity to manipulate your whole mind to make you see that he didn't do anything but he was trying to rid him of evil, Tom Hanks really managed to make that despicable character to a level that you really have to applaud him.

Este tipo de películas siempre serán criticables de manera negativa por dos motivos (y hasta más), por contar historias que ya conocemos, así que deben entretenernos de alguna otra manera porque estaremos pendiente de que no se equivocaron o simplemente nos aburrimos por ser lo mismo, por no representar de manera correcta al protagonista de la biografía, ya sea por el parecido de los actores o su decisión de actuar. Para mi Austin Butler fue un auténtico Elvis, donde hasta da miedo del parecido entre ambas figuras y el poder que puede conseguir la actuación.

These types of movies will always be criticized in a negative way for two reasons (and even more), for telling stories we already know, so they must entertain us in some other way because we will be watching to make sure they didn't make a mistake or we simply get bored for being the same, for not representing the protagonist of the biography correctly, either because of the resemblance of the actors or their decision to act. For me Austin Butler was an authentic Elvis, where even the resemblance between the two figures and the power that acting can achieve is scary.

Ya el solo hecho de elegir representar de manera casi perfecta todos los escenarios o momentos que vivió Elvis, el propio Elvis se sentía en esa película, Austin prestó su voz para todas las canciones que salieron en la película, y según varios artículos que leí, solo se le fue agregada un poco de la voz original de Elvis para darle apoyo al cambio que tuvo en su voz en la época de que Elvis engordó y su voz se puso mucho más gruesa. De verdad que la cantidad de energía física y psicológica que Austin tuvo que gastar para lograr todo lo que representó en esta película fue increíble, pero de verdad siento que valió la pena.

Just the fact of choosing to represent almost perfectly all the scenarios or moments that Elvis lived, Elvis himself felt in that movie, Austin lent his voice for all the songs that were in the movie, and according to several articles I read, only a little of Elvis' original voice was added to support the change in his voice at the time that Elvis got fatter and his voice became much thicker. Truly, the amount of physical and psychological energy Austin had to expend to achieve everything he portrayed in this movie was incredible, but I really feel it was worth it.

Yo la verdad no tenía ninguna expectativa con esta película y la fui a ver al cine porque no tenía otra cosa más que ver, lo que estaba en el cine o ya lo había visto, como Thor, Parque Jurásico o teléfono negro pero un amigo me había invitado al cine y de verdad quería ver algo, al saber que había esta película disponible a ver la cantidad de funciones que tenía sabía que la propia gente del cine no tenía buenas expectativas, pues, solo existían como 3 funciones en una sola sala de cine, mientras que las demás tenían como 5 horarios en dos salas diferentes.

I really didn't have any expectations with this movie and I went to see it at the cinema because I had nothing else to see, what was in the cinema or I had already seen it, like Thor, Jurassic Park or black phone but a friend had invited me to the cinema and I really wanted to see something, when I knew that this movie was available to see the number of shows I knew that the people at the cinema didn't have good expectations, because there were only 3 shows in one theater, while the others had about 5 times in two different theaters.

Al ir recuerdo que mi amigo aún no había llegado y eso significaría que tal vez me iba a perder los primeros minutos de película, pero por no tener expectativa de verdad no sentía que importaba mucho, ya yo tenía una actitud de que tal vez me iba a entretener, pero no sería algo grandioso, pues salí de esa sala de cine extasiada, emocionada y triste al mismo tiempo. Agradecí demasiado que mi amigo llegó a tiempo y no me perdí ni un minuto porque de verdad disfruté demasiado todo lo que pasó en la película, disfruté cada canción utilizada y cantada y terminé llorando demasiado por toda la injusticia que sucedió.

As I went I remembered that my friend had not yet arrived and that would mean that maybe I was going to miss the first few minutes of the movie, but because I had no real expectations I didn't feel it mattered much, I already had an attitude that maybe I was going to be entertained, but it wouldn't be something great, because I left that movie theater ecstatic, excited and sad at the same time. I was very thankful that my friend arrived on time and I didn't miss a minute of it because I really enjoyed everything that happened in the movie, I enjoyed every song used and sung and I ended up crying too much for all the injustice that happened.

Yo siempre he sido fan de las canciones y artistas existentes antes de yo nacer, siempre agradeceré a mis padres por meterme a conocer ese mundo y Elvis fue uno de esos, Can’t help falling in love siempre fue mi favorita y eso que la definí así conociendo como 3 canciones solamente de él pero igual esta sigue siendo la favorita en mi lista, no quiero decir mucho más porque estoy inspirada a hacerle un post a esta canción específicamente pero quiero decirles que esta canción fue una de las *mejores* utilizadas en la película pues, sin hacer spoiler, suena varias veces en la película pero en momentos específicos y de verdad muy perfectos, me recordó demasiado a las grandes ideas de John Williams.

I have always been a fan of songs and artists that existed before I was born, I will always thank my parents for introducing me to that world and Elvis was one of those, Can't help falling in love was always my favorite and I defined it that way knowing only 3 songs of him but this one is still the favorite in my list, I don't want to say much more because I'm inspired to make a post to this song specifically but I want to tell you that this song was one of the *best* used in the movie because, without making spoiler, it sounds several times in the movie but in specific moments and really very perfect, it reminded me too much to the great ideas of John Williams.
