hiveblocksYeah, there are already various Databases for the Steemit blockchain. There is even a MySQL "frontend" for the blockchain, provided by SteemData! I do not intend to compete with SteemData & @furion, after all the more public endpoints we have for data, the better for our beloved platform! As people say, "the more, the merrier".
The database is now syncing and it will take some time before it is complete. There will be public read ("SELECT" queries only for now) access for everyone. I will be announcing more details (server URL, username/password etc) as soon as the sync is complete. If you are interested in lending a hand (such as testing the DB), let me know on Steemit.Chat (send a message to dimitrisp)
If everything goes as planned, I plan to add replication and sync it to nodes around the world for faster service access if you plan to use the DB from the other side of the world.
The SteeMySQL will be funded 100% by upvotes on SteeMySQL related posts and my own pocket. However, if you want to help the service grow, you can always send a donation or whatever (while I'll be grateful for your support, this is not a requirement to use the service!)
Cost breakdown: The cost of the service is currently $40/month for the server + $8.84/year for the domain.
