Seriously... A new account ( @sashawilkins ) [just posted on introduceyourself](https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@sashawilkins/hy-mate-this-sasha-in-here-i-want-to-find-more-friend) that was SUPER obvious as a fake, and people are still upvoting it!  All you had to do was read the title and just glance at the content to realize it was someone ripping off [a girl's blog](http://www.libertylondongirl.com/), but no.  You people saw a pretty face and threw your upvotes at it.  PLEASE take a minute to actually **LOOK** at what you are upvoting!!

There should be penalties for poorly written bots - or another way to look at it, incentives for continuous improvements of bots' code.

This is something very dissapointing that I noticed. Introduction posts are the most upvoted. If only introductions are being valued, than what is the point of steem ? This project can only work if content providers that offer true value are being rewarded. If not, the project will simply die if you ask me.

Great Rant though!  We get a little upvote crazy in the early days I suspect.  Eventually we will have brilliant people creating services and even blogs using steemit as the backend to their own websites---so eventually I think you will see many **free market solutions** arise that help people upvote quality content.  

Heck there may even be people you follow simply because you know they live and breathe for curating quality content and have a philosophy you agree with.  God it is nice to have a platform that will enable us to build our own solutions instead of having them rammed down our throats (cough...cough...governments everywhere...)

Fuzzy, since you are the guy who is always around in dev discussions, can you pass the message to @dan and @ned that we may need to include negative incentives when a curator upvoted a post that ends up with a negative score. This would help discouraging people voting on everything that remotely looks like it could trend up. Not sure exactly how this would work, but currently there is a bit of a "nothing at stake" problem with the way people are voting carelessly.

Good idea. Yesterday, I was thinking that there needs to be more incentives for people moderating (and maybe as you point out penalties for not making effort to use your votes to curate valuable content) - I would like to see Steem Vest awarded for people who perform moderation functions such as down voting plagurism - although I'm not sure how to stop this being abused.

Wang does his thang in #introduceyourself . But yes even he does not read! True, people just up-vote ( like I do) on seeing a chance of the post zooming up the pages, and be the first one to vote. Over time I expect this to mature enough so that really good posts are appreciated.

Just thought the title makes it seem like you imply that no-one cares on the platform.
But you are right to raise the issue, I hadn't seen that thread, so it gave me a chance to weight in too. We need a hashtag to report abuse actually and make sure that "people who care" know to watch this tag at least once in reward cycle to make sure detected spammers don't get away with free money.
