This artwork is entitled as “I am one of them” and it’s a portrait of a young person that signifies the identity as part of the minority. “For a very long time, I wanted to draw something (portrait) that has something behind it not just a model which strikes a pose or someone who is famous. Then, it lead me to this. A portrait which symbolizes a certain group of people. A portrait which screams for their presence, identity and acknowledgement. Such portrait is this, or that's how I see it at least” the artist told us. The technique is watercolor and the painting was made with Medibang Paint, a free digital painting and comic creation software.

Today’s subject of the artwork by divadstrokes is a bird called Red-backed Tanager (scientific name: Amphocelus dimidiatus). “It caught my attention that red color and how it merges with black, this bird is located in the north, northeast, west of Colombia and most of Panama, In humid forests it inhabits clearings with shrubs and cultivated areas that are below 1300m in height. The one that I have painted is male since its beak is bright silver white compared to that of the female which is more blackish” the artist said. In the post you can find a beautiful video representing all the painting process.
