How to Compress Audio to Lossless and Lossy with WavPack
Hello, everyone!
I'd like to share about how to compress audio file to lossless and lossy compression with WavPack.
What is compression?
>Compression is a reduction of transmission bandwidth and storage of the data.

What is lossless?
>Lossless is a compression that perfectly reconstructed closed to the original data. The decompressed data is identical.

What is lossy?
>Lossy is a compression that reduce the data, especially the redundant information inside that can't be recognized or detected by most of users.

Now, I'll tell about things to do.
**Step 1**
Run WavPack which can be downloaded at [here](http://www.wavpack.com/downloads.html).
You need to download both files which is easier to do with GUI. Therefore, you need to download `WavPack Win32` for 32-bit or  `WavPack Win64` if you use 64-bit version and the last one, GUI version or the frontend, `WavPack frontend.`

**Step 2**
If you have run the program named `WavePack frontend.exe`, open the audio file you want to compress.

**Step 3**
Choose what's best method you want. For lossless, click on the lossless tab and set just like you want.
`Very Fast` means the timing of compression is very very fast, but the reduction of the size is low.
`Fast` means the timing of compression is just fast and the reduction is decent enough.
`Normal` means the timing of compression is normal and the reduction is normal. Best compromise between speed and compression.
`High` means the timing of compression is a bit slow and the reduction is as high as possible.

For lossy (on this program is called as hybrid), click on the hybrid tab and set just like you want.
Recommendation the lowest of `Bitrate Quality` is 256kbps, just like iTunes mastering file, but they use m4a. It doesn't matter, just the container. And, 256kbps can provide transparent reproduction for non-critical situation.

**Step 4**
Just put your directory path wherever you want at `Output directory,` then click `Go` button.

If you got this problem means you haven't copied yet `WavPack Win32` or `WavPack Win64` I told before.

Move all of your downloaded to the same directory or location with `WavPack frontend.exe` file.

If you've done, just click `Go` button. It will be like this.

For lossy, too, it's the same step.
