All about yesterday...

A bit late but nevertheless... We had a very strange and stressful Sunday yesterday. Literally dodged another lockdown bullet, at least for the time being.

Hello everyone!

As this Sunday draws to a close we sit down and take a deep breath! This morning we dodged another lockdown when it was announced that Mauritius has currently got 8 active covid19 cases and all incoming flights have been paused for the coming week. People stormed to the shops to stock up in a frenzy of panic buying. Rumors of a nationwide lockdown abounded for a couple of hours until the prime Minister announced otherwise at 1pm this afternoon. We sighed a huge sigh of relief and gave thanks that it didn't come to pass.

Hubby and I had an interesting day..after a lovely wet and wild beach walk to check out the effect of tropical storm Iman and a late brunch, I'm not ashamed to admit that we also dashed to the local shop for necessities as I never went to the shops last week. 😅 We then had to make a trip to the airport to drop his crew off as they had to travel to Jakarta via Dubai, going home for the first time in over 2 years. Enroute we encountered heavy rains and many Maha Shivaratri floats and processions. I managed to grab some photos and videos which I will share with you guys tomorrow. 😉

For now... Chilling on the couch. Hubby's cooking supper. I've got a gin and tonic so I'm happy 😊.... 😂 Sunday night quiet time.

After no Covid cases for so long, how did your island get a few? Were travel restrictions lifted for a while?

Hi @scribblingmamma how are you doing. ☺ We've had some covid19 cases come through travel but they've been contained aa all travelers have to quarantine at a registered facility for 14 days and since departure from their country to finishing quarantine undergoes 4 covid19 tests. It seems someone or something slipped through the cracks. We now have 10 confirmed local cases and praying for no more otherwise we face another lockdown. How is it going your side? 🤔

I quit paying attention to all the local numbers and statistics long ago. The restrictions here in Idaho aren't as severe as in many other states or countries, and I am grateful for that. I am acquainted with several people who have had covid 19. Some of them were sick for 3 or 4 weeks, and some of them weren't very ill at all. It's a very strange illness.
