Bezos: You Might Want to rethink Buying

Bezos recently suggested that people should [hold onto their money](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/hold-onto-money-jeff-bezos-230000890.html) and that they might want to rethink buying a new automobile, fridge, or whatever other item they might have in mind that they are planning on purchasing soon. He joins others who have also warned customers previously that they should hold off on spending.

However, if customers expect prices to rise on things that they need *why would they wait* to pay a higher price? Especially for things with no expiration date.

According to Bezos he says the economy doesn't look so good and that things are slowing down, this could mean more people look to adjust their budgets and spending.

What is in store for next year? Numerous financial experts have warned about a potential recession or something worse coming about.

Meanwhile, others like Tilman Fertitta have suggested that they still [see the masses out there spending](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bekoD0o7BxE). He says he is betting on the American consumer and there are others as optimistic as well who have been doing the same.

However, the high prices that we have been seeing in the market have many looking now to spend less [this holiday season](https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/washington-secrets/sorry-kids-81-parents-cutting-christmas-spending).

One survey found that about 70% of consumers plan to spend less buying things like meat, seafood, and canned goods, [as well as looking](https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2022/11/22/thanksgiving-shoppers-switch-brands-spend-less-inflation-layoffs/10730012002/) for cheaper brands to save money too. It's estimated that some 60% of Americans are currently living [paycheck to paycheck](https://www.cnbc.com/2022/11/18/60percent-of-americans-live-paycheck-to-paycheck-heading-into-2022-holiday.html) heading into the holiday season. If inflation worsens that could mean even more are stretched thin with little room for *any emergency situation*, they won't be able to cover it easily or at all.

Well.... many people who are just expecting a recession and then things to be normal on the other side
... the last time this happened, all the prices fell, and it was better to buy later.

Used car prices are a good example.
Right now, they are in the stratosphere, but soon they will be in the shitter.
So, waiting to make a used car purchase is a good idea.

However, if you want a new car.
The 2024 version of many new cars may not exist.
Plants, and soon, entire car manufacturers may be closed permanently.

Computers... the demand for them has already fallen.  At the same time, getting all the parts and building a functioning computer is become more and more tenuous.
Any actual conflict with China, and we may see new computers as unobtanium.

BUT FOOD, buy all you can now.
Two really bad things are going to happen.
1. Food is going to become more costly
2. Good food may become impossible to find

You will eat ze bugs... 
No i won't!
But the FDA is already making "emergency" decisions to remove sell buy dates.
They will allow food factories to leave off of the ingredients list, bugs: crickets, grasshoppers, mealy worms...
So, that box of cheerios?  How much bug content is in there?
General Mills won't tell you, but there will be all kinds of whistle  blowers saying that bugs go into the factory.

While there is always some unavoidable contamination, significant admixture cannot be done without either labeling or literally  killing people allergic to chitin (from vaccine adjuvation).  If they leave bugs off the ingredients list,  people will die of anaphylactic shock as a result, and only the bar will profit as lawyers chase ambulances.

Yes, i am very aware, and afeared for my health.

However, i have seen too many indicators that the FDA is heading down this path.
This is a depopulation agenda, and as such, they care not about the lawyers.  They own the lawyers.

BUT!  i just thought of this, food products are allowed to have x% bugs.  You can't keep them out.  It's impossible.  What if the FDA quietly increases that percent from 3% to 10 or 20%?

That's true these gadgets has no expiry date. If people need to rethink then they will for sure. No one wants to do something fully right?  Thanks for sharing this.

I've been spending, but on tools and infrastructure that will enable me to provide services regardless of grid conditions.  I consider it investing in being nimble and productive despite externalities.  I may next seek to develop means to provide fuel so I can remain a mobile service regardless of political destruction of fuel provisions.

I have dealt with several local crises in recent weeks, and began to assess the implementation of fueling yesterday, even as Thanksgiving was underway.  I wish more of my neighbors and family were taking the same tack into the headwinds we face presently, as them as don't will be driven where the gales push them.
