The first death sentence has been issued in Iran recently that is linked to the [protests](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/nov/14/iran-issues-first-death-sentence-protests-mahsa-amini) that have been ongoing. There are hundreds who have lost their lives and many who have been arrested. 

Now authorities along with civil justice advocates in various parts of the world are urging for justice. This is now several weeks of public unrest from people protesting against what they see as a tyrannical regime. 

It's alleged that some of those who engaged in the protesting are facing charges like <b>"*disturbing public order & comfort, community, & colluding to commit a crime against national security*"</b>. 

Some individuals have been given several years behind bars for their actions protesting. 

It's estimated that there are [thousands](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/oct/21/arrests-iran-protest-crackdown-plight-thousands-in-jail) who have been arrested because of the mass demonstrations that have been going on. The authorities in Iran have been seeing an undesirable uprising and it looks like they are going to use the full power of the state to punish those who they disagree with.

Some estimates suggest that over 300+ people have already lost their lives in the social unrest. 

Countries around the world have also sought to take action against the Iranian regime but that arguably hasn't seemed to slow down the tyranny being exercised against those who were arrested and now facing serious punishment.
