They have been selling hundreds of handguns every month and a great deal of them are reportedly new shooters too, at least some 80 percent of those buyers or more. When they come in to buy their first piece they are also going to be buying several boxes of ammunition and that means that there has been a noticable surge in demand. Now, the uptick in business is putting a [strain on availability of products](https://www.kxxv.com/news/national-politics/the-race-2020/gun-and-ammo-shortage-affecting-professional-shooters-in-the-us) for professional shooters too. Around the country there are retailers that are now facing empty shelves and are getting cleaned out faster than they can restock the goods.
