Jamaica is well known for cannabis culture, and for tourists visiting who have medicinal cannabis licenses, it is easy to access cannabis when going on vacation to this destination. 

Over the years, they've lessened restrictions on cannabis in Jamaica, with individuals allowed to allegedly possess up to 2 ounces without seeing a criminal record for it. But still, they insist that they are not looking to become [like Colorado](https://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/world/americas/article230916353.html) for cannabis tourism.

However, although it might appear very green friendly, the state still spends time going after people who skirt the rules, trying to grow their own at home when they shouldn't be etc.

Because cannabis culture is so closely associated with Jamaica and Rastafarian culture, you might be surprised to discover that this country doesn't rank at the top for cannabis consumption. Iceland ranks at the top with roughly 18.3 percent using cannabis. 

For Jamaica, their rate is sitting at roughly [7.21 percent, with other Caribbean regions](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/maps-and-graphics/mapped-the-countries-that-smoke-the-most-cannabis/) like St. Lucia coming in at 8.87 percent, Barbados at 8.3 percent, the Bahamas at 5.54 percent.

There are some strains that are going to cost you a lot more than others. Loud Dream is said to be running for [$800 an ounce](https://www.forbes.com/sites/brianroberts/2018/04/20/the-most-expensive-weed/#4efb55813c57), and prices obviously range from store to city, to country etc. In Vegas, one [dispensary there sold an $11k cannabis-packed cigar that had 24 grams of weed in it](https://www.newsweek.com/las-vegas-marijuana-leira-dispensary-cannagar-blunt-most-expensive-legal-weed-1275644).
