Years ago it was another location for Subway that was one of the first in the world to accept cryptocurrency for payment, at least one of the more well known worldwide brands that are out there today. Since then there have been other locations that have also been reported for accepting [bitcoin payments](https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2013/11/12/bitcoin-accepting-subway-sandwich-shop-discovered-in-the-us/), Subway came in when most of the world had not heard about cryptocurrency yet. There are dozens of crypto [businesses](https://www.statista.com/statistics/1224741/firms-with-crypto-payment-solution-germany-city/) that are located around Germany, with over 90 of them in Berlin who either have a cryptocurrency ATM or are accepting cryptocurrency for payment. ## Germany has previously been ranked as the top [crypto-friendly](https://cointelegraph.com/news/here-is-why-germany-is-ranked-the-most-crypto-friendly-country) country. Despite the volatility today there are many people in El Salvador, Germany, around the US, and other parts of the world, who continue to show us that they are happy to spend their cryptocurrency as a payment method to pay for sports merchandise, fast food, and more. This is good news. They are on a good way to paying for the bread (or for any food) with Bitcoin (BTC) in the grocery/bakery stores. Or in the supermarkets/hypermarkets. Or in the restaurants. Or anywhere. It would be good to use cryptocurrencies as a direct payment method for foods.
