Having a Child Protective Services worker come to your residence and confiscate your children <b>can be a terrifying experience for any parent.</b> Even more terrifying is if you find out later on that the individual wasn't a CPS worker at all, only that they were posing as one so that they could try to kidnap your children. 

# One woman in Vegas recently tried to allegedly pose as a [CPS worker in an attempt to kidnap a 3 week old](https://www.kgun9.com/news/local-news/st-lucie-county/crime/pd-woman-accused-of-posing-as-cps-worker-in-attempt-to-kidnap-3-week-old-baby) baby.
<center> </center> She was even so bold (or foolish) enough to involve the police; contacting them to try and use them as an escort to carryout her crime.

## The woman in question had allegedly contacted the police and claimed that she was a CPS worker, she asked for the police to assist her with an emergency pickup of the 3 week old baby. 
<center> </center> The officers <b>did turn up at the location</b> where she then had allegedly given them paperwork, but they later determined that paperwork wasn't legitimate. 

Thankfully, the police that she had contacted <b>noticed that the paperwork didn't appear to be legitimate</b>, it's also reported that she didn't have the proper identification and was traveling in a stolen vehicle, consequently she wasn't able to be successful in kidnapping the child.

<center> </center> The parents had allegedly spoken with the woman at some point on social media, where they had reportedly discussed the [topic of purchasing newborn clothing](https://www.wmur.com/article/police-woman-posed-as-cps-worker-in-attempt-to-kidnap-newborn-girl/25376834). 

The woman that attempted to seal their child had been able to learn information about the baby thanks to the social media accounts of the parents' and what they posed online, as well as finding out information from communicating with them directly. 

[The woman in question was eventually](https://www.kgun9.com/news/local-news/st-lucie-county/crime/pd-woman-accused-of-posing-as-cps-worker-in-attempt-to-kidnap-3-week-old-baby) arrested and she is facing charges of forgery, attempted kidnapping, possession of a stolen vehicle, and more. 

[CPS workers are given identification](https://www.kgun9.com/news/local-news/st-lucie-county/crime/pd-woman-accused-of-posing-as-cps-worker-in-attempt-to-kidnap-3-week-old-baby) when hired and are supposed to readily provide that information to families that they are tasked to work with. The card that they are given details their name, a picture, and the title of their position.
