<div class=text-justify>Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent scheme which involves paying older investors huge return of their investment from the funds invested by newer investors. Ponzi scheme was named after Charles Ponzi who made use of this technique in the 1920's to dupe investors of their money. As technology advances, so does ponzi scheme methodology advances. All methodologies involves the schemer (mastermind behind the system) shuffling investors funds from one place to the other, until the whole system crashes. Three years ago, a ponzi called MMM went viral in Nigeria. It was thought to be a legitimate source of investment as it lasted for years . It was all carried out on Internet as investors provides help to people in need of money and gets a 20-100% profit return of their investment. As an older investor, you get bonus on every new member referred by you into the scheme. As at the year 2017, MMM crashed and left many investors in tears. Regardless of the methodology or technology used, all ponzi scheme possesses similar characteristics which are - A guaranteed huge return of investment with little or no risk attached - The investment strategies involves maybe secretive or too complex - Guaranteed consistent flow of investment returns i.e you are always profiting - A quick way to make money - Investors finds it difficult to withdraw their funds when they want to</div>
