Why I like Custom ROM (Chapter 1)

Custom ROM တွေကို ကျနော် ဘာကြောင့် ကြိုက်ရသလဲ။ လက်ရှိကိုင်နေတဲ့ mi cc9 (mi 9 lite) လေးကို ဝယ်ပြီးစ 6 လလောက်ထိပဲ ထင်ပါရဲ့ official MIUI ROM ကို သုံးခဲ့၏။ ဒါတောင် China ROM ကနေ EU ROM ပြောင်းပြီး သုံးခဲ့ခြင်း ဖြစ်၏။ ပြောရရင် EU ကလည်း custom ROM သာ ဖြစ်၏။ MIUI official ဆိုလို့ China နဲ့ Global ROM သာ ရှိ၏။ ကျန်သည့် EU, Russia, Indian, Indonesia base ROM တွေကလည်း custom ROM တွေသာ ဖြစ်၏။ ပြောရရင် MIUI base custom ROM တွေ လို့ ပြောလို့ရ၏။


Xiaomi phone တွေက China ROM နဲ့ global ROM ဆိုပြီးတော့သာ လာကြ၏။ China ကနေ global ပြောင်းလို့ ရသလို၊ global ROM ကနေလည်း China ROM သို့ ပြန်ပြောင်းလို့ ရ၏။ bootloader unlock တော့ လုပ်ဖို့ လို၏။ အရင် model နိမ့် phone တွေမှာတော့ အနှီ unlock ကို ချက်ချင်း လုပ်လို့ ရပေမယ့် နောက်ပိုင်း model မြင့် phone တွေမှာတော့ unlock ရဖို့ 7 ရက် သို့မဟုတ် 15 ရက် သို့မဟုတ် 1 လ လောက် စောင့်ရတာမျိုး ရှိ၏။ Xiaomi က ပေးသည့် official unlock ပေါ့လေ။


Unlock လုပ်ပစ်ပြီးပါက phone တခုလုံးကို မိမိ စိတ်ကြိုက် အသုံးပြုလို့ ရပြီ ဖြစ်၏။ Root ပဲ လုပ်လုပ်၊ ROM ပဲ ချိန်းချိန်း ကြိုက်သလို လုပ်လို့ ရပြီ ဖြစ်၏။ ဒါက အားသာချက်ပေါ့။ အားနည်းချက် အနေဖြင့်တော့ phone ၏ security ပိုင်း အာမခံချက် မရှိတော့ခြင်း ဖြစ်၏။ ကျနော့် အတွက်ကတော့ security ပိုင်းတွေ ဘာတွေထက် phone တခုလုံးကို ကိုယ့်ခြေ ကိုယ့်လက် လုပ်လိုသဖြင့် unlock လုပ်၊ ROM ချိန်း၊ root တွေ ဖောက် ပစ်လေ့ ရှိ၏။

MIUI ROM က ကောင်းပါ၏။ သို့သော် ကျနော်ကကို သိပ်သဘောမကျခြင်း ဖြစ်၏။ တကိုယ်ရည်စာ အရပေါ့လေ။ China ROM နဲ့ EU ROM မှာတောင် size တွေက ကွာ၏။ 1 GB လောက် နီးပါးကို ကွာ၏။ China ROM မှာက ကျနော်တို့ အတွက် အသုံး မဝင်တဲ့ app တွေ တော်တော်များများ ပါနေ၏။ China ROM ဆိုတော့ သူတို့ ပြည်တွင်းအတွက် ဦးတည်တော့ သူတို့တွေ အတွက် အဆင်ပြေတဲ့ app တွေ ဖြစ်ပေမယ့် ကျနော်တို့ အတွက်တော့ မဟုတ်ပေ။


Global နဲ့ EU ROM မှာတော့ အဆိုပါ software တွေ app တွေ မပါပေ။ MIUI base မဟုတ်တဲ့ AOSP base custom ROM တွေကတောင် firmware size ပို နည်းသေး၏။ China ROM က 3 GB လောက်ရှိပြီး EU ROM က 2.5 GB လောက်ရှိ၏။ ဒါတောင် Android 10 & Android 11 base MIUI ROM တွေ ဖြစ်၏။ ခု နောက်ပိုင်း Android 13 base MIUI 14 တွေရဲ့ firmware size ဆိုရင် 7 GB လောက်ထိ ရှိ၏။ ဒါတောင် zip file size နော်။


AOSP base custom ROM တွေကတော့ (ကျနော့် phone အတွက်) 1 GB နဲ့ 2 GB ကြားသာ ရှိ၏။ Vanilla version ဆိုရင် 1 GB, Gapps version ဆိုရင်  1.7 GB လောက်သာ ရှိ၏။
