Hello Programming & Dev community
### Who am I?
I'm a senior DotNet programmer and team lead with 7 years of experience in this industry, but I have been coding for 10 years. Except for DotNet I have dabbled with some PHP and NodeJS, but I'm not proficient in them. Mostly I have worked as full-stack developer with jQuery in the good old days and with React in the most recent years.

I love programming and I love software so much that I often find myself coding something obscure in my free time as a hobby without any intention of using it. I often try to find some interesting open-source projects to contribute to just because it is fun. My passion is high-performance code and optimization as well as highly scalable and reliable architectures.

### Why @dotnetguru?
Most of my experience is in DotNet and, not to sound egotistical, I wanted a username that will deliver that point at first glance.

### Why am I here?
I have a newfound passion for mentoring and sharing my knowledge to help other people grow. I hope that this community will be my start of fulfilling that desire and help me grow as a programming "blogger", but more importantly, help people learn and grow as developers as well.

### What is my goal?
Someday before I grow old I want to start a coding academy :)

### What should I do next?
This is something that I hope you will help me with...

The current blogging scene is not curated and there is very little dialog with the readers and what they want to read about, so if there is something that you want to read about don't hesitate to tell me about it.

Here is a list of broad topics that I have enough knowledge to share my thoughts on:
- Solution architectures
- Design patterns
- DotNet best practices
- MSSQL Database optimizations
- Helping team members grow

Hope to hear from you... :)

*Happy coding,*

Welcome to hive! I’m glad that you’re on here with us, it’s a wonderful place full of lots of great people!

I am excited to see more developers taking a stab at getting into hive and the social side of it so they can expand their presence but also mentor and help other people out. I don’t have a whole lot of knowledge of the topics you are referring to, I know their names but not really what they do functionally. I’ve been getting into using Python in the past year or so, so I’m early in my programming journey but hope to expand that!

Hive is an excellent place to grow an audience, although the developer side isn’t well known for being chatty there are good groups on here you may fit well into! Blocktrades is a major developers team on here so you could drop them a message to see what they think, where things are needed etc. and could help guide you a little bit on where would be good to interact.

Other than that, below is some good info I’ve put together over time to help out new users. One of the most important things to try and get some traction on is getting in some good comments! Comments are the most important thing people can do, new or old. If you can comment often and grow an audience, you could certainly do well here! Maybe even have a community of your own where you can host your mentor stuff! Let me know if you have any questions, the place is a fair bit to learn in the beginning!

We’ve got a beginner zone, so-to-speak that has lots of important information you can learn from. I would recommend you check it out to learn some stuff about the place, lots of great information is posted there.

One of the things I wanted to do is give you a piece of advice that could make this place awesome for you! Talking with some of the people who have been here for a while, we remember one of the best things we did was find other people’s posts through others or go looking and start commenting meaningful things. If you drop small phrases it won’t get you much attention but if you look at a persons post and leave a great comment, a lot of times they will appreciate it and talk with you. If you continue to do this you will develop a friendship with them and will gain followers and grow your account. This is not an easy and fast process. It takes time but the more effort you put in the more you can be rewarded, with limitations of course.

I just say this in hopes you go out there and really connect with people and grow your account. The more we all do this, the more people will come here to take advantage of such a great place.

With commenting and posting, we consume what’s called ā€˜resource credits’ and in the beginning you don’t have a lot, you have to earn more. If you want to consistently comment and post, the website https://giftgiver.site/ does 10 day delegations for you to increase your credits to comment or post. Give it a try if you need some! Please feel free to ask me about this if you are confused!

There’s also a great article that can answer a lot of the questions you may have. Please visit it at:

Here are also some great communities of people you can check out! The list is a work in progress so please take them as suggestions but there are a **LOT** of others besides these!

Hello @dotnetguru! This is @indayclara from @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) team. We saw that you already posted your first blog here in Hive! **Congratulations and welcome**!

It's also best to subscribe to [Communities](https://peakd.com/communities) you like and share your blogs there to have a wider range of audience. Or you can check out the [Communities Incubation Program](https://peakd.com/hive-174578/@ocd/ocd-communities-incubation-program-update-54).If you are looking for tips and information as a Hive newbie, click here: [Newbie guide](https://peakd.com/@newbies-guide). This is also a dope guide you will like: [How To Get A Great Start on the Hive Blockchain](https://peakd.com/hive-174578/@castleberry/how-to-get-a-great-start-on-the-hive-blockchain).

Also, letting you know since content on the Hive platform is monetized, using other people’s ideas or images could be considered as an offense and which is also viewed in a serious light on the blockchain. Here is a [useful collection of resources]( https://peakd.com/ccc/newbies-guide/abuse-and-plagiarism) about how plagiarism and abuse is viewed and handled on Hive.

If you have questions, you can hop into [Discord](https://discordapp.com/invite/YGVAvvm) server and we'll gladly answer your questions.
